Will someone please remind me how big the vala’s battery is? It’s 600wh, you want to compare that weak sauce trail bike to a Levo, please include the weight of range extender that my buddy has been waiting more than a month for.

I like you. Levo and Vala are both 160/150 trail bikes that can accommodate larger suspension. Vala has better range with a smaller battery. Like you said Trek is the best option right now, so you should buy one. Comparing Trek and Specialed to Santa Cruz is hilarious. I had a Rail, won't make that mistake again.

The comparison of an entry level 2025 vola and an entry 2025 Levo there is no comparison. Have you looked at the specs of the 2025?

You win but if you are paying MSRP for any bike in January you are pretty dumb. You can get a Vala R shipped to your door for $6,500 if you know where to look, carbon frame, latest Gen5 Bosch motor/battery and much sexier looking bike which is important to me. I got a great deal on the GX AXS Vala from my LBS and couldn't be happier. I'm probably the biggest poser on this forum so I don't need a big enduro bike my wheels barely ever leave the dirt.

Better range than a 700w? Sounds like a blanket statement from my experience with the 700w Levo and me asking an experienced rider, who's had many rides on his Vala.

I asked my LBS owner yesterday why he stopped selling SC(as the Vala interests me) and he told me that they weren't worth the hassle with all the problems the bikes have had, so there's that fact. I'm not knocking the Vala, just giving real world feedback. A small company gets bought out by a big corporation and it's NOT uncommon that quality goes south.

Anyway, back to the Specialized Gen 7, whenever it comes, it won't be under 10k for sometime.

Any way........when's this big reveal we're all waiting for happening?

Twin 1500wh removables, internal geared 150TQ motor, Fox factory 180 and Neo, Enve hydra rims with DH shredda radials and entry price £3800 was the rumour I heard

It better special-ised for making us all wait 😁

Hey, as for your range claim…. Maybe watch Sam’s bikes, he seems to have an issue with what your claim.

Seems like the Brose won. Btw, my buddy with the vola that can’t seem to get the range extender runs out of juice way before my full power Kenevo.

As of right now from what I have seen, the new trek rail is looking really good. Stock is 160/160mm travel with options to up fork to 180mm and you may be able to up shock it for 173mm
Its already running a 65mm stroke shock, not sure you're gonna get any more out of it.

Although in the High position, it gives 162mm rear travel.

Ehh definitely not that dude is a bigger Specialed fanboy than you. I already bought the bike I wanted, so it really doesn’t matter. Only other bike that was on my radar was the Pivot Shuttle AM but I wanted the Gen5 drive unit.

Could have sworn I saw a 205x60 shock in the spec in the spec sheet but you are right, just checked and it’s 205x65, so long shocking would cost a bit more.

Nah interested to see what they come out with hopefully something that looks better than the current Levo. The looks are really the only thing I don’t like about the Levo but that is just personal opinion.

Presumably because the Kenevo has a 700wh battery and the Vala has a 600wh?
Yes, the person I was quoting claimed a vala had more range than a 2025 base Levo. His claim was the new Bosch motor has better “mileage “ a brose. That’s not how it works, a watt hour is a watt hour. The new Bosch battery packs get 600wh out of a lighter package because the new cells are more energy dense. The base 2025 Levo comes with 700wh battery so it will out range a vala.

Weight, fitness, terrain, tyres, suspension.....just to mention a few all play a huge role in range, Wh are just a part of the story.
You forgot to list nm. An 80nm motor will be less efficient for most speeds than a 90 nm. The lower torque motor spends time maxed out than a higher torque motor…. Think diesel engines.

Diesel engines vs gasoline engines is an entirely different conversation than 2 electric motors of slightly different specs. If the motors are rated for similar efficiency, unless one is getting hot struggling to keep up causing an efficiency loss due to heat, they should be very similar in usage to complete an identical workload. If anything, the stronger motor would more often spike up to its rated output when accelerating and lead to more overall usage without you intentionally going any faster.
