What did we miss?

Ive gone the other way ... I have a gen 3 expert and ive swapped the 700 for a 500 and swapped the X2 for a x rear Shox, 38 for a 36, and now I have a lightweight mean racing machine...

I have never found that the bike in its default configuration has even been a limit to what I want to ride.

But keeping on topic ... I hope they add coast shift to the new gen4
I also don't really need the big battery but I think the rear suspension of the Levo is a limiting factor. I mean its intended as a trailbike and the kenevo is for the bigger stuff but 160 mm would be better suited for it because on slightly rougher stuff or jumps it blows too fast trough its travel and doesn't feel planted. I'm still on the fence if I should get the normal cascade link or the long shock link and a new shock...

I think before they even consider releasing a new bike can they please fix the existing App .... or allow us to use the old one again. If the new app is any indication on the quality of the new bike I think I'll be moving away from specialised.
I downgraded to the old TCU, originally did it to get rid of the cable going to the bar controller but the plus side is I can use the BLEvo app. The new Spesh app is basically unusable so it ended up working out better than I had planned.

I too am unhappy w/ the new Mission Control App. The old one was much more intuitive. What happened to the feature that tracked your air time and distance when jumping? I find the graphs on the new version to be indecipherable.

Same here! I chose the basic Carbon to have the old TCU , so Blevo!!!

Guess you never really used the new app to record a tour, analyze data, and configure your bike... of course a taste of old mission control helps here a lot to understand the whole dept of crap.

I seem to be able to do all those things just fine in the new app.
What’s missing?
Seems like they simply rearranged the interface a bit.
I just adjust my various assist settings, hit record ride, and stuff the phone in my seat pack. I ride to get away from gadgets! ;)

I use Strava to track my rides, zero use for the app….
I use Strava and the Spec app, just to see some added info, which is enough for me.

Unlike others, I prefer the mastermind, as I only ride in micro tune mode. The 10% increments don’t have the huge power jumps and feels much smoother.

Setting up Garmins correctly is a pain, that's true. But this particular feature—counting how many jumps and how far—is just complete nonsense. Garmin has it too. It's inaccurate and therefore totally unnecessary...

Then try to record the ride together with Strava or Garmin, then compare the recorded data. New Speci App f.e. is way off counting 100-200hm extra on 1000hm. I had a long discussion with Speci tech team, they admitted an issue , i tried some new app versions. At the end it was not fixed. Even recorded data on Mastermind are fully different to the Speci App, what a joke!
Battery Charge limit is not working, only one display profile is possible, firmware data and ota update...etc... All that was working in MC. Of course there are things also better in the new App, like user interface and visual configuration, but that is more "game boy"

Calculating altitude via GPS seems to be rocket science… same GPX track delivers different results in Strava, Komoot or Garmin Connect…

I really don’t care much about all the stats. As long as I can fine tune the assist and ride the bike.

Your statement that the 80% Battery Charge Limit feature is not working is mildly concerning, though easy enough to deal with manuall—and the truth is that these batteries are not all that sensitive and will last a long time (unless a cell fails) regardless of charging patterns.

As for over the air updates, it was my understanding that discontinuing that feature was very much intentional as Specialized wants the dealers to update the bikes (perhaps so they can be sure that a derestricter is not in use; I just bought a Levociraptor Gen3 but have yet to install it).
