There a post from a user here who has seen the bike that alludes to the new battery mounting being a kin to an updated Rail. There was also another comment previous to that from another user also mentioned a side removable battery.
updated rail doesn't have side loaded battery...so this is little confusing...

You know what would really make a splash? The new Specy with DJI motor! : ))
Sorry guys! But all these DJI requests are starting to get annoying. Anyone who knows a bit about Specialized knows that they never rely on an existing system. Therefore, the DJI is obsolete.

And if the rumors are true and the new Brose with Specialized software delivers >100Nm, the topic is history anyway…

This will just confuse things more :) but if that's the case, this might not be the thread for you ..
Why? I'm interested of what kind of bike there comes since I'm big Specialized fan. But I think it's amusing that some people think that there's no future for bike brands without DJI motor. Or that Taiwan/USA owned bike company would use chinese motors.

The weight and the whole package is interesting. Amflow basically made the current gen light and full power emtb range obsolete.

The bigger battery trend is not ideal for aggressive trail riding. Its no coincidence many bosch bikes are specced with the smaller battery.

Plus 600 wh isn't really small. I once did like 2500m elevation on my e8000 504wh battery.

I agree as far as lightweight bikes go.

But the Amflow isn’t fit for purpose for me, its not a solid enough build - flexy frame, 36 forks, type 4 rating etc.

So it’s good for trail riding but I’d not want to show it some big rocks/jumps/drops.

I’m sat in a room right now with someone who’s seen the gen. 4 and this thread is cracking him right up. So many claims from people who have no fucking idea what they are talking about. 😂

I'm pretty sure the guy on the bike is a Specialized sales rep for Northern California.......

Hard to tell if there is a sidebar like the gen 3 levo?

Picture was taken this week, & he was riding with others on full powerd ebikes.

My oh my, how this thread digressed from rumors to people's wishlists! :D
While I'm sure it's fun for some folks here to play the Specialized Product Manager role, and others to claim they have pocket Aces but keeping close to chest ;) To me the main question would be about dates.
1) Why isn't Specialized announcing yet - delays from the motor vendor?
2) I'm sure they'd want to "pre-announce" the date, as a buildup (like they did with epic 8 I believe) so even rumors about that "splash" date would be helpful
3) It's not gonna be a fikin DJI motor, even I know that! :ROFLMAO:

Pretty sure that’s all but been confirmed. Especially considering the delays Brose admitted to on the new motor system perfectly coincide with the delay of the Levo launch.
Has it…. We know there is a new brose but I’ve heard that specialized will be using a custom mahle motor for the Gen 4 given the issue with the 2.2/2.1 motor

I’m hoping it’s full MX with a 29 option
The issue with this is the speed sensor (something dgi does not address) . Most of the speed sensors count wheel rpm for speed. The difference in wheel diameter matters. In the USA EMTB’s are speed limited to 20 mph, if you have a bike with a 27.5 wheel on the back( where the speed sensor is) and you mount a 29 er the bike will stop power assist around 22 mph instead of 20mph( the speedo will read 20 mph). Why does this matter? Class 1 bikes are not allowed to assist over 20 mph so the bike would be illegal with a 29er in the rear. How do I know this? I have run a 29er on my Kenevo and I have a buddy that runs a 29er on the back of his full fat Levo.

You gotta love this, random dude has taped his bike with camo tape and then took picture of it and people go grazy 😀
Looks like one of the original Levo Gen3 limited edition launch wraps :

I can't believe how long this bike has been delayed.

My info's 2 years old now so either they had development problems or regulation issues with the (high - above euro legislation) voltage.

In which case they've either stuck at it and finally resolved things, or they've scrapped it entirely and jumped to the other bike which was in parallel development at the time (but was less exciting - to me anyway). For this level of delay, you can't help but think the original has been shelved or pushed to be the next gen when they're ready with it and they switched to plan B.

Amazing job from Specialized keeping the info to themselves till now !
However there were some repeating details from this thread that could indicate some things like :
150mm rear travel
Not a Brose motor
800w + battery (with maybe an option for a smaller one)
Levo sl style frame
same weight as today +-

Been waiting for this bike for some time now but the 150mm rear disqualifies the bike from being a contender for 2025.
Looking got 160+ and the current leading options are the Wild and new E-riot by Ghost (for some reason not alot of new options with that travel).
Waiting to next month to make a decision with a slim hope for the bike's reveal with added travel.

Its because of the covid order crazyness and supply chain issues leading to massive stocks that are now sitting in warehouses and at the dealers. If specialized released the Gen4 already those bikes would see even bigger discounts which would also hurt the prices of the new models. Specialized is known for trying to keep their prices as high as possible and doesn't like dealers giving big discounts.

That ship has sailed a long time ago !
Specialized were the first offering massive discounts late 23' .
The reason it continues is no one knew than they were sitting on over 1B $$$ usd worth of bikes
