dude you clearly miss the point
With respect, I don’t think I did.

No bike, current or future, will fulfil the needs of every rider, this thread is full of comments along the lines of “if it doesn’t have X, it’s a deal breaker for me”… There’s going to be a lot of disappointed people.

Let’s wait for the bike to be released, then people can look at the specs and decide if it’s a good bike for them. It’s likely it won’t be easy to de-restrict, but restrictions on e-bikes are put in place for all sorts of reasons and complaining that a bike can’t be de-restricted is not really relevant to the new bike launch.

Also, and accepting it’s over 20 years since I last jumped a gap, if you need motor power to clear a gap then it’s not really a mountain bike trail, it’s a motor bike one.

It's pretty simple: without restrictions and with more powerful or even Surron type bikes more people will want to get them banned from the woods. I don't ride big jumps but mostly local/bikepark or (alpine) hiking trails and my assistance is often switched off when going dh because to me it feels safer if I don't have a motor assisting too much at the wrong moment.

I can see the S-Works being sold with the 600Wh and a range extender so they can claim low weight when only using the main battery and long range when using both...
