Talk on another forum of Specialized closing some offices and smaller warehouses in Canada & US respectively. They might be in a spot of bother.

I got tired of waiting and ordered a Crestline frame, only downside is it’s being delivered to my dad’s house in the US. I won’t be visiting the US again until the end of May so I’ll just be collecting parts until then.
According to reliable rumors Specialized G4 which will leave Amflow in the dust is available in all shops in the beginning of May.

Just watching a DJI vs Bosch video on YouTube which talk a bit about the future of ebike motors & at the very end they slide a riders view of an upcoming non DJI or Bosch powered bike & say “but we can’t talk about this bike as it’s under embargo”. Looked very similar to the silver bike spied previously in this thread.

The video is called DJI vs Bosch why are the major brands hesitating.

The Levo for sure will be a higher quality frame but the e-system will not leave Dji in the dust (not even close).
Also, the cost of the Levo with the same spec is MUCH higher than Amflow.
The main thing though is by May you will see at least 2 very high quality bikes with Dji Avinox, which will not make Speciaziled life easy.

I think the Levo will be for a few elite and the DJI for the masses......

I don’t know about that. A few posts later, the employee who lost his job at the Spcialized D2C location said that the closures were part of a consolidation effort:

From what I can gather, almost all D2C and online fulfillment will eventually be consolidated into that massive warehouse in SLC they picked up roughly a year or so ago. Along with many other things like all warranties, wheel/suspension services, and their internal schooling.

If Anflow bring out there Enduro Bike with its DJI Motor around the same time as this Gen 4, Spz will be on the back foot IMO.

I'm not a DJI fanboy but just wondering how the Specialed will leave the Amflow in the dust? All the current motors (DJI, Bosch, Brose, etc...) can put out more power than the software allows and there are already rumors of Bosch releasing a new update that will put it over 100Nm when the new screen is available.

I think the Specialed will be on par with whats currently available and at this point will not be the game changer it could have been a year ago.

It's not only about torque and NM but the whole bike. Also warranty and support is at least for me the major factor and it will take a couple of years to get a picture of how this is handled since Amflow and DJI got absolutely no track record in the ebike market.
Don't get me wrong Amflow is an amazing bike I just don't belive Specialized is willing to step down from the throne.

All this extra available torque is going to lead to an increased rate of chain & cassette wear for those who ride hard.

i am interested to see which of the big players is first to solve this via belt drive or gearbox Etc

drivetrain suppliers must love this power war.

Here you go, these guys are in Edinburgh. It can be run with a belt or chain drive and they’ve got a few big brands doing testing with it now.

In the USA it’s going to lead to Karens getting more trails closed to emtbs.
About 70% of the trails I ride in Orange County, Ca are already prohibited to ride Ebikes, but at least 50-60% of the riders are on Ebikes. The majority of the time the Rangers look the other way and don’t hassle us, for many reasons.

Surprisingly, a big local State park is now allowing e-bikes as of last month.

The only clowns that are going to get trails closed to ALL bikes are the dummies riding throttle assist emotos, like surron’s.

Dont forget this new Gen 4 was already to go last year, then the DJI came out and it got pulled. Been told this morning from local store its not bum on a seat until early Q2, Spz still have a lot of current bikes to move, and they are selling at the discount prices.

Same thing happen with the SL2, other companys caught up. I remember the "whisper quiet" being a big part of the marketing after the TQ motor had dropped to such amazing reviews of its motor noise.

Been riding e bikes here in San Diego for 7 yrs or so and have never been told to get off ANY trail I was on either by Rangers or whoever.
I did get told by a lady while I was unloading my bike that all e bikes weren’t legal anywhere, anytime so I got that going for me too.
Im trying to think but maybe twice I got the stick eye from some guy on a regular pedal bike but most are chill. If your being a douche you’ll get sounded for sure but that goes for an analog bike to.

As far as Spec. dealers that I have seen running discounts on the current bikes they have in stock that’s a big no Vanna.
24/25 turbo levo Carbon comp with a 700w battery will still run ya 9k plus tax and you better have your own pedals cause they don’t come with em.

Picked up my 23’ turbo levo comp carbon last summer from a guy who put 23 miles on it and paid $5,200.00 and then dropped some more coin on some upgrades and I would have a hard time walking away from this bike. But hey I said that about the bike I had previous to this one.

Worth sticking to the end where he mentions the state of bike reviews - that are “influencers” doing adverts that look like reviews. No doubt this new bike will have many when it arrives.
I mean this is the same for all the main review websites/magazines also. Especially when it comes to the big brands.

I don't think you should making your purchasing decision off any Youtuber. .... Test ride the bike yourself.
I kind of agree on this on youtubers, but real journalists reviews I have trusted. And done my decisions based on reviews done by real journalists and my own prefrences and never rode any bike I purchased :D Year ago I ordered Bullit and have done 1800km on it and it is just as good as reviews said, just love it.

Sounds like a narcissist who is not getting what he considers to be a fair slice of the cake to me.
Maybe he’s ‘borrowed’ the idea of calling out other YouTubers from JayEmm on cars.

I test rode about 10 e-bikes at various events back in 2017/2018 the little bit of internet chatter suggested Specialised were launching a new version of the levo bike I had tried so I waited for that. The Rocky Mountain I wanted to try failed at the test event in FOD Uk. I bought my next Gen 3 unseen and happy with that but things more competitive now.
