Know that trail well and he’s flying down it 😀👌🏽
Thanks Tubby. It's interesting for me to watch him as well as see his times there compared to last years race. He was riding the same track as last year and his time was 19s quicker than last year, which is a massive improvement of course.

Yeah I like watching peoples lines on trails I know to see where I can improve. For instance, there’s a rocky section on Black Powder that takes you into a quick left hand berm (49s on your vid). I pick my way down there like an old man walking on ice, your son just flies down it like its nothing. 19s is a massive improvement 👌🏽

I had a pretty awesome ride yesterday. Not only was the riding good, but I got to follow down my instructor from last year, who was shocked to see me still behind him at the bottom, setting a PR. Cut my time down in half over the year.

Included a second trail where things got a tad too soft for our typically muddy area.

My footage from the ebike class at an mtb race in Virginia yesterday. Sorry about the squeaking, I think that is the tiny sound of the rubber bands on the gopro mount (extra stabilizing tension).

Catching lapped traffic was rough on this course, it likes to feign space and then snatch it away as you make your move.

This is not your average ride footage, but I purchased a kids carrier and wanted to stress test it to know where its limits were. Turns out, it is not even remotely trail approved! 😂
Of course, there was no living being in that carrier while testing it! Have fun watching.

I've been talked into Black Powder next weekend as we're there with the boy racing, but i'm riding on the Friday and a mate or two are also now joining in. He's better than me but assures me that i can ride it OK... (that may be a relative term). So we'll see what happens. Although the rock drop/slab, i'm not convinced about

I’m sure you’ll be fine on Black Powder, it’s not too difficult, just a bit rougher around the edges here & there. Ignore the fact the rocks are sharp & jagged and look like they want to kill you 😆

Yeah I don’t like that drop either, it gives me vertigo! And the jump line after the drop is a bit too kicky for my liking unless your comfortable with 15-20ft gaps etc 👍🏽

Shortish route at 14 miles but a real cracker with some nice single track sections 👍.

Well i rode and survived Black Powder, although for whatever reason we went a slightly different way at one stage and didn't do this drop. We went over the bridge instead. Possibly because of the race track tape that was up for the National DH or maybe because my riding mate took sympathy on me. :D

the track itself wasn't too back, arguably mostly no rougher than Scrubadub which is my 'go-to' track. There was one rock drop before the bridge i had to stop, take a look as it was blind, push back up and then hit... Some steep but OK bits. But mostly i survived it.

So thanks again for giving me the push. It was a little daunting as there were a shit load of racers practicing for the DH race and even though it was only 25% of the same track, we were going off from the start hut they'd built and i had a fair few racers lining up behind me. :D

Been a while since I posted and longer still since I rode E.C.P ( health issues blah blah blah ) but felt good today and the bike is running ok.... So headed out initially for a gentle ride but... THE GATE WAS OPEN So had to do it. Albeit no pads and standard trainers I gave it a good go ( for me lol ).

If your bored.....
