Kiox button not working?

GF'S kiox on her cube started to be a bit reluctant to turn on but a firm press on the button and it would work. Now it doesn't matter how hard or where on the button you press it wont turn on. The bike still works if you use the battery button, it powers straight up and all the functions on the display work fine.
I've cleaned the contacts on the kiox and the cradle, cleaned all the motor connections but nothing.
Could it be the actual button mechanism isn't making contact inside the kiox? Can you split it to have a look? Or is it a replacement kiox?

I read on a previous thread one person plugged the Kiox in by a USB to a laptop and it reset.

Does the button feel any different to normal? You should be able to feel a bit of a click when pressed.
There's a gap below the buttons and dirt can get in. I had this happen once and managed to clean it out with an old toothbrush that solved it.

This happened to my garmin 810, there is a rubber cover that makes contact with an on-off switch on the pcb. In my case, the switch was ok, it was the cover that got busted after many years of abuse. I could not find the cover on the internet, so just put a piece of plastic that reached the switch and covered the hole with tape.

The cat finds it suspicious, but its working…

I'd read about the internal battery going flat so plugged it in for a couple of hours but no difference.

The button still clicks when pressed but has no effect .Do you mean under the rubber cover? Do you just lever it off?

If you are looking at the power button there is a very small gap below and to the left, just enough for tiny bits of grit to get in to. I brushed the grit out but didn't try lift the rubber cover. Mine stopped the button clicking though so it might not be the same issue.

Yeah, all clean and dandy so its a no I'm afraid. Really reluctant to shell out for a replacement but GF isn't keen on just using the battery button to turn on long term. Can't say I blame her....
Kiox might have just volunteered for open heart surgery....out with the scalpels....
