It seems that LBS's, in my area at least, are not at all familiar with the procedure to raise a change request of an E-bikes configuration, e.g. enabling the Powermore range extender on older (pre 2024) Smart System E-bikes.
The request is made via the Bosch diagnostic program using the instructions below, on receipt Bosch forward the request to the E-bike manufacturer for aproval and issue a confirmation number. Any Bosch approved dealer can do it. The manufactures response, approval or denial will be sent to the dealer and may take some days. If approved the new configuration, as I understand it, will have been sent to the dealer who must reonnect the E-bike to Bosch diagnostic program to load it.

The following information was provided by Bosch Support in response to a ticket I raised requesting it, with some minor clarification and grammer changes. I believe under the "Request Configuration" section the dealer is presented with a form with a number of possible options that can be selected.

1) The bike dealer connects the ebike to the Bosch diagnostic tool 3.
2) For configuration changes, such as this, you can make a request to the bicycle manufacturer via ‘Request configuration change’ in the ‘Configuration’ area (click diagnosis & configuration > Request configuration) to send the request to the bike manufacturer who will evaluate and approve/deny the request.

Hope that helps anyone else who needs something changed in their bikes configuration and whose dealer is not up to speed on the process.
