The only good thing in this bikes is geometry. nothing else.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone is frustrated with the issue and the delayed communications.
I’ve been guilty of speculating on the outcome, however would suggest seeing what Canyon’s response is on Wednesday, they might use this issue to strengthen their brand or cast aside their customers like VW did with Dieselgate (I mentioned VW as they treated customers in different jurisdictions differently). Hopefully Canyon choose to look after their customers as anything less will erode the brand.

Let us hope that a standard shimano battery with a kind of mount adapted to the fixing design of the frame may be one of the options. However, the 2-bolt threated fixing seems weaker then what other brands apply, so this could be difficult to solve.

Not a bad performance in that time period, but have you ever thought about your riding technique? I don’t know anyone who wears out that much equipment…
have a KOM on a course that they have life flighted 4 people off this summer alone. I get trophies on strava for being in top 10 often, today on fact I made 5th on a section. Which is In the endurance capitol of the world. Now I doubt you know anyone that has climbed and dropped 338,674 feet in almost 8 months. Im at 3,342 miles in 8 months. as of today. If your fast you go through tires and brakes. Its why i custom drilled out a 220 rear rotor for the magnet, 220 bolts on both with adaptors once you get the magnet sorted out. On a side note, some miles is on my manual gravel bike, and I did my first century this year at 61 years old.

No man, they just need better plastic. You get what you pay for, and shimano had empower a chinese company make these, and better plastic cost more. Its all money. Most of these batteries have no issue because its not design failure as much as plastic. Some are cracking no where near the two mounting bolts. That place is just the weak link.

Plastic get brittle if it gets too hot, and some of the batches produced, were produced with brittle plastic. If it was design failure, all of the cases would be breaking of you rode hard on it. Mine gets ridden as hard as possible for as long as possible, and no failure at all after 3,342 ish miles, and 338,000 feet climbed in 8 months. And I fly through some nasty rock gardens. Poor bike gets hammered on

Saludos ebikers

Yes, you're right. 3,342 miles / 338,674 feet in 8 months is impressive but only focused on the time. My millage / height ratio is higher but I did in sum less within 2 1/2 years on my Levo SL because I mainly ride my Stumpjumper. However my drivetrain works pretty fine after approx. 2500km. Cheers Mate!

Here´s another impacted owner of a Spectral:ON CF 8 user from Spain. Mine is from January 2023. After formally requesting a full refund from a legal warranty perspective their response is that it is not an option yet and more details hopefully addressing all my questions will be published on Wednesday 11th. The delay of one week from the original intention to share an update in 4 weeks is worrying but let´s see what´s their approach to address this severe incident.🤞

Well, we will see hopefully tomorrow what Canyon will do to address the issue.
Although i have been looking at having casings 3d printed and transfer the internals. Elec/Electronic eng. So swapping battery internals shouldnt be to hard. Also, does anybody know what the connector on the battery is, make, model and manufaturer...

That might be Canyons position in Spain prior to tomorrow’s announcement, ho

its important to note that’s Canyons reported position in Spain and that consumer law varies significantly between countries. Therefore it’s unwise to interpret any other that Canyon in Spain are unwilling at this point to assist that individual customer.

Not that I’m aware of, maybe at this point Canyon believe that they can offer a ‘repair’ that doesn’t detract from the performance of the bike…. That would need to match the battery capacity….. and be within a reasonable timeframe…… anyhow its moot until tomorrow…..

its not the miles, as much as how fast you can ride consistently. Im not the fastest guy down the hills, but 10 miles with 1500' of climbing in steep technical trails, im in the top ten on every trail in a 30 miles radius

I was inspecting the notice website and found this somewhere:
Hope this clears up some stuff. I'm not sure how true all of this is, it could be a draft, but who knows.
I also have one of these and i'm just greateful all of this is happening in the ski season ;)

Folks, I've just been informed by Canyon UK and been given the brush off that we will not be getting an update today!
Their response was only that an update will be issued soon.
Quelle Surprise, whilst I’ve been supportive of Canyons initial email the failure to meet their own timescale and provide an updated communication is extremely disappointing….. they appear to have ‘dropped the ball’ and lost control of the ‘message’.

They should provide a general holding email as an update if they cannot publish the next steps now…. the handling of events after the expiry of their response timeframe has all the ingredients of turning into a PR and Brand disaster….. there’s a window for a speedy recovery, although I’m doubtful.

Seems that Canyon is (indirectly?) controlled by "Groupe Bruxelles Lambert" so perhaps the GBL board will be involved.

I spoke to Canyon UK on website live chat and they didn't want to speculate when communications were going to be issued...

Can you stop posting the news that email will be today?
I have received tons of alerts during the last several days with no normal info, but that update will be soon.
Thanks.
