If Derailleur Cable Snaps or the Derailleur Come Off, What is the Best Solution?

Just wondering what will happen if after a long drive your derailleur cable just snapped all of a sudden or your derailleur come off? I know derailleur assembly is listed as one of the emergency kit but is it the easy to replace derailleur on a eMTB? And is this really happening on eMTB that cables stopped working? Thanks.

It’s pretty much the same as a regular mtb, if the cable snaps you can use the high gear end stop adjuster to pick a lower gear to get you home.
If you junk the derailleur you can shorten the chain to suit a middle gear.
The university of YouTube is your best bet as it is easier to watch a demonstration than type about it.

I carry a spare cable - it doesn't take up much room coiled up. Just make sure that the end is soldered or glued so that you have no trouble feeding it through. Never had a broken rear mech, but I have had a bent hanger. I also carry a spare hanger - again it is pretty insignificant to carry.
