One motor has sd50 cables, and the other has sd300 cables. The juncition blocks on the motors have one or the other, but not both sizes. Will the junction blocks unpluge from the motors after removing the two screws, so I can switch them from one motor to the other?

Terb,

So that other's understand, the SC-E7000 (Black & White display) or SC-EM800 (Color display) are two computer displays which are compatible with the Shimano EP8 motor. The older model SC-E7000 display only accepts SD50 wire leads. The newer model color display, SC-EM800, only accepts SD300 wire leads.

The Shimano EP8 motor utilizes a SD300 wire to control motor function. One end of the SD300 wire plugs into the EP8 motor's control port and the other end travels up to the handlebar mode controller and display.

Depending upon you bike's wiring, you can use any of the below listed components to mount a SC-E7000 or SC-EM800 computer display on your eBike with Shimano EP8 motor. These same components will also allow you to convert from a SC-E7000 display to a SC-EM800 display.

The EW-AD305 adapter:

The EW-AD305 adapter accepts a SD300 wire plugged into one end of the adapter and a SD50 wire plugged into the other end.

Example of adapter use: You wish to mount a SC-E7000 display on your eBike which has a Shimano EP8 motor. The Shimano SC-E7000 display will only accept SD50 wire leads. However, Shimano EP8 motors utilize a SD300 wire running from the motor to the bike's cockpit to control motor function. You therefore need to convert the SD300 wire to a SD50 wire which then plugs the SC-E7000 display. To convert the SD300 wire you would use a EW-AD305 adapter.

Note: If your bike has a EP8 motor and you are presently running a SC-E7000 display, then there is an EW-AD305 adapter located somewhere on your bike at the end of the SD300 motor control wire.

The EW-JC302 Junction:

The EW-JC302 junction allows you to extend the length of any SD300 wire.

Example of adapter use:
You wish to install a SC-EM800 display on your EP8 motor eBike. You mount the SC-EM800 display on your handlebar. You discover the SD300 motor control wire is too short and cannot reach the display on your handlebar. You plug the adapter EW-JC302 junction onto the end of the SD300 motor control wire. Shimano manufactures SD300 jumper wires in various lengths. You buy the appropriate size SD300 wire jumper wire and plug it into the other end of the adapter and run the other end of the SD300 jumper wire to your display.

SD300 and SD50 Jumper Wires:
Shimano manufactures SD300 and SD50 jumper wires in various lengths from 150mm to 1600mm.
