• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

as far as I know the battery cuts out if it gets too hot as a safety precaution.

I think I read about it happening to people on here in really hot countries.

You should always let the battery cool down before charging btw

Heat is a known battery life reducer of lithium ion batteries.

Hi speed doesn't make you battery hot. High current for long periods, makes your battery hot. So using your motor above the limiter won't damage your battery. Using the bike in high Power Modes to achieve speeds above the limiter, for sustained periods, will. That's because the battery continues to have high current drawn from it, for long periods.

But if you run your bike in a lower power mode, and can still achieve speeds above the limiter. The battery won't heat up, and it will be fine.
