Hello,
And almost happy New Year,
I bought a new rear wheel for Trek Rail 2021—a new Hope Fortus 30 Pro 5 Hub metal freehub for Shimano HG (running 11 speeds),
after moving the cassette/disk from my old Novatec hub and install on the bike (not forgetting the 1.87mm spacer - for 11 speeds). The cassette lock nut is rubbing/forced against the frame on the drive side! I took the spacer out and tried, but the cassette was not tight...
I measured the HUB side to side, which was 144mm  (instead of 148mm - as also written on the hub body).
The Endcup was supplied with the wheel box.
The only way to make it work was by adding a 3mm spacer, which I had.
Any ideas ?!

Cheers, and nice vacation,

Where did you add the 3mm spacer? I have pro 5 hubs with a Shimano 11 speed linkglide cassette, no spacer between the cassette and freewheel. Where does the endcap in the box go? Sounds like you need a thinner spacer than 1.87mm between the cassette and the freehub..

Hi,
I am running a standard "Sunrace" 11-speed HG cassette. The spacer comes before the cassette on the free. it was supplied in the box for this purpose, along with the end cup (for the drive side).
The 3mm spacer is added over the end cup to make it longer.

Could you please mark your rear wheel axle and measure your bike's full hub length?

Cheers,
