I wanted to buy a Rise H15 but they are not available in Switzerland as this year’s stock was all stolen from a lorry! My LBS persuaded me to get the H30 instead. He gave me a pretty good deal and I had the brakes upgraded to 4 pot SLX with the 200mm rotor on the front. I was going to upgrade the forks but the dealer said they Mazocchi forks work well, especially if you are light (I weight 63k). Actually, I find they are pretty good. I set up the sag at about 30% with almost no rebound and the small bump sensitivity was impressive. But, landing jumps I was bottoming out with a nasty clunk, so I have increased air pressure but still bottom out on larger bumps. Rather than just adding more pressure which will reduce the small bump compliance, it seems more logical to add a token but the bike was not supplied with any spare tokens. In fact, the manual for the bike doesn’t even mention the Marzocchi forks, only the fox forks but I’m told that they are basically the same (although the dealer said they are easier to service than the fox forks). My questions are am I doing the right thing adding a token and secondly are the fox 34 tokens the correct ones for my Marzocchi forks? It does seem odd that Orbea does not supply any spare tokens with the bike.
