Flow app statistics problem.

I’m new to this so just done 6 short rides. Statistics have recorded all the data but the map squares are empty.
Statistics are supposed to start automatically with the ride and I click the finish button at the end, sometimes holding it for over a second as Bosch recommend.
I have turned location on with the app only and also always on but with the same results. The app keeps banging on about Strava and Komoot but I don’t have either of these. I do have the OS maps, MemoryMap, Apple Maps and Google maps installed.
What am I doing wrong, what map is the app supposed to use?

Yes it keeps pushing komoot but I use the OS 25k maps or MemoryMap for transferring GPX files to. I don’t really need statistics as I know where I’m going and how far but just thought I’d look at the flow statistics but am not impressed up to now.

I can trace the route on OS maps and get an accurate mileage. You could run a map wheel around a paper map to do the same. If you set the wheel circumference correctly ( I put tape on the tyre and wheel it along the ground with me sat on the bike ) then at least the display on the bike should be correct.
I know this sounds like a “dull man” thing but different tyres have different profiles and over 40 miles a little bit adds up.
