It has arrived!

First Impressions... Power Delivery is so Smooth upto the Cut Off
Slight Wobble in the Front Wheel... Think maybe took a knock when Shipping (Tredz covering the cost of a LBS Fix)
Sizing Feels great (Size 20 and im 5'11)

Can anyone shed some light on how I know whether the Bike is Charging when Connected to the Bike?

View attachment 38578

First Ride out on the Trails today via the LBS to get the Wheel Wobble Sorted

A quick check over of the Bike resulted in finding on top of the Out of True Front wheel it Bent Mech Hanger, the threads are also buggered. The Front of the Chain Guard is missing. Oh and it definitely doesn't seem to charge unless I connect directly to the battery!
I've informed Tredz to let's see what they come up with.

The Bike though... wow when it's working it's phenomenal. I rode trails today that usually I'd avoid! Rode, Further, Faster and for Longer than I have any right too!

Looking forward to getting these teething troubles out of the way and piling the miles on the Bike!

The joy of the Bosch...handle bar control lights up on my wife’s Whyte,my Speacialised has a green light on the charger when full charged.

Yeah nothing at all on this. Even went as far as using the Smart Meter to look for the extra draw but nada unless I'm direct to the Battery

That’s cost cutting for you... went through the same process as you just before lock down, even down to the ‘Blimey better some home work’ wife went Whyte 150s and I went Specialised Turbo Levo, but currently it’s any bike with either Bosch or Brose and 625.

As a hard core biker as in motorbikes not convince about tubeless,on mag wheels it’s a yes but wire wheels... no thanks, already had a puncture, wheel out tyre off tube in and gone.

After a good few weeks of research, many times of hovering over the checkout button, plenty of second guessing, umpteen YouTube Videos....

I've finally bitten the bullet and placed a order for a 2021 Cube Stereo 140 HPC Race 625!

Not sure on Delivery Dates yet but have to say I cannot wait!

Its gonna be my First EMTB ever and I haven't owned a Bike for 20 Years so any tips are greatly appreciated!
I got my first eMTB Cube a year ago. Definitely go for tubeless. I did have several punctures early on but after advice on here only one tear
caused a puncture..
If you haven't got a compressor or an AirShot it can be difficult and the LBS maybe a good option. Also check chain wear. I didn't and had to replace the cassette, chainring and chain.

What do I need to convert to Tubeless? Worth just asking the LBS to do it?
Why do I need to Carry a Spare Tube if I go Tubeless? Sorry if that's a daft question.
I'll check out all the other stuff

Thanks
Tire performance is enhanced without the friction of a tube. Lower pressure = higher performance. Reduced flat risk, thorn and other piercing objects are healed with automation provided by sealant. I've carried the same new spare tube on my Decoy for over a year.

Great looking bike, I'm also thinking of getting my first emtb Cube Stereo after a Whyte hardtail 901. I had heard that Cube had some issues with aftercare... but not with upfront delivery damage. Hope you get things sorted with them! Living in Italy I found a site in Spain who ship internationally and are offering 2020 bikes and a few 2019 with a discount... So sadly the Bike definitely isn't Charging from the Socket on the Bike.
Combined with the issues around the Rear Mech Hanger too means the Bike will be going back to Tredz.
Customer Service so far has been pretty lacking so I'm not too confident about it

I'll update when/if I get the Bike back

will they simply repair it or give you a new replacement bike?

They don't have a replacement in the correct size.

I've sent an email to the CEO of Halfords who own Tredz as expecting me to wait 3 weeks to repair a Bike that is 3 Days old is unacceptable in my eyes.

No wonder, hopefully they get it sorted for
You quickly ?
I’m just hoping that i get a refund for my bike then start looking again for something

Have received a reply from the Executive Assistant of Halfords CEO so let's see how they resolve it

I wonder whether your bike has been knocking around for a while being moved around warehouses etc?

Not sure bud.

I've been speaking to a Manager at Tredz and they've agreed I can take the Bike to them tomorrow and they will aim to fix same day. Still not massively confident though

Dropped the Bike off to Tredz this morning and had a Chat with the Mechanic who will be working on it.
Seems pretty confident that we can get it sorted for me to pick up this Afternoon.

So i got the Bike Back

Charging issue was a Bent Pin in the Connector from the Frame Socket to the Battery
They Fitted the Missing Front Chain Guard
Its also had new Rear Mech and Hanger.

I still have some issues with the Mech when its on the largest Cog. There is some slack in the Shifter which if you press pushes the Chain off the back of the Cassette so i'll be taking it into my LBS to get them to check it over.

Surely you can adjust the limit screw to stop that happening.

I did have a Go but in all honesty im not a Bike Mechanic and its pretty new to me. Would rather someone who knows what they are doing sort it for me.

I was the same but have a look at the many videos on YouTube. When you understand whats going on it really isn't that complex and really rewarding when you sort it.If you don't or make it worse, then take it to the bike shop and you've lost nowt

Update -

Adjusted the Low Limit Screw and got it to a point where it wouldn't jump off.
Rode it for about 25 Miles and generally it was OK but pretty jumpy.

Took it to the Workshop at Forest Cycle Hire @ Haldon Forest to get them to go through the Mech.
Bear in mind that Tredz told me the Mech and Hanger were replaced when I took the Bike to them.

Problems Found by FCH -

Bent Rear Hanger (Again?)
Rear Hanger was Loose causing the Mech to move Side to Side...
REAR AXLE WAS LOOSE!!!

I had been riding around on Blue/Red Graded Trails with a Loose Rear Axle meaning I could have lost my Rear Wheel at anytime!

All Credit to the Guys at Forest Cycle Hire... Anyone local to Haldon Forest or just visiting definitely check them out. They have gone through the Bike and sorted all the Issues and for the First Time I rode the Bike and had Zero Issues with how it performed.

Tredz did Apologise and Compensate for the Issues but I definitely will not buy another Bike from them in the Future and would advise anyone considering it to think twice!

Glad you got everything sorted.:);)
I followed the exact same path as you re the Stilus but at the end of last week went for the same bike (Cube 140 HPC 625), I got discount on the 2021 model in stock . Turned up perfectly packaged and un-damaged. Have to say the guys at Leisure Bikes were fantastic and answered every stupid question I had with patience and detail. First ride 20 plus miles Sunday and WOW, only used one bar all day. Ended up with a picture 15 mins from home, repaired it when I got back and then it took me a couple of days to work out how to get the tyre back on the rim (fairy liquid was the key). Next step to go tubeless! I got loads of comments on the looks and felt great riding it. All in all (despite the Stilus coming into stock exactly 2 days after) I am pleased with my decision as Cube dealers seem pretty switched on and happy to help and poles apart with what I have seen with Decathlon, I called in on Sunday to pick up a few bits and pieces and there was a queue 10 deep waiting at the cycle department for parts and repairs most of them seemed to be chasing things up they have been waiting weeks/months for!!
