Hi all, Really great forum ! My situation : 6ft 7" (200cm) tall and 95kg wet. Old skool rider been out the scene for 20 years looking to get back in with an E-MTB. Rides will be up and down trails (20km+), some flat stuff with the occasional bike park thrown in for good measure.

Commencal META POWER 29 ESSENTIAL DIRT 2021 XL - £5300 approx
Similar to above but 29er bit more expensive though and reach is less at 500mm. Looks nice though! Expected June ?.
I am edging towards the Focus Sam2 6.8 it's just the weight thing I'm concerned with. Any input most welcomed!
Side note : @marekkuzian We are roughly the same size. Have you ordered a bike yet? I'm surprised the Mondraker was cramped for you as I heard they're good for tall people..
For your height imo minimum reach 520. This means S5 Kenevo or Nicolai. Nicolai go up to 550. Specialized S6 around 535 might happen later this year. 510 would work perhaps with a 40 or 50 stem. Santa Cruz Bullit would be another option but expensive.
I have not got a bike yet. Almost resigned myself to the thought that will need to settle for a 500-510 reach and to teh fact that I'll just have to get a bike without trying it out (hardly any shops around here have XL/XXL demos). Add Brexit and CV19 Wave 3 - u got no change to get hold of anything.
I do like the concept of the lighter EMTBs and was thinking of the Orbea Rise (R=500) but again, cant try how the reduced assist feels like so difficult to commit based on the youtube reviews.
Any other thoughts you have let me know.
I also do like the sound of S6 Specialized (but for now it's just a "hope" I guess)
Just thought of two more that have pretty good numbers: Commencal Power SX and Lapierre GLP2 Overvolt.
Have a look in the Whyte section of the forum for owner reviews ..Good to know, yeah bit on the weightier side but the low centre of gravity should make up for that. Yes a 50mm stem could be a shout. If the e160 in a size L is 25kg (MBR article) i'll assume the XL e180 to be about 26KG and the 29er 150 XL in at around 24 . something kg. My conundrum is..Will I get away with the shorter travel 150 or just go for all round comfort of the 180.
How was the ride for you apart from the GEO? What's your height btw?
Nicolai is just too luxurious unfortunately ££££ visually at first I wasn't keen on them, but actually starting to see the appeal of them.
Hi Steveo. I hope this finds you well. I’ve ordered a size S/M and I’m 5ft 7.5 but comically short arms. Would you say I still need a L though. ThanksI would probably look elsewhere as they do size up small. A few of the review's i have read says if you are taller forgot it. Iam 5.8 usually a medium and have a large orbea FS wild ordered and felt perfect for me. So i reckon over 6 foot might start to feel a little cramped on a XL ?

Im also considering the Orbea Rise with a reach of 500mm. I'm 6'4 (196cm) and think the bike will be big enough, I mostly ride XC and trails, so a lighter bike will be the best choice for me
Due to try one in XL in the next week. Let you know.
