E MTB Problem

Hey guys, sorry if this may be in the wrong thread, I'm new to forums.

I want to quickly start of by saying I paid for my EMTB cash, I knew the risks of de-restricting and fully accept the consequences.

So, about 6 months ago I used the magnet trick to trick the speed sensor therefor increasing the speed of the bike. After 100 miles the bike threw up an error code so I decided to put the sensor and magnet back to it's original location... the bike was then completely fine for another 100 miles.

Last weekend I went on a ride and it threw up error code: 523001 Drive Unit Error - Sensor System. (Cube Hybrid 160 HPC) and went back into limp mode.

I took the bike to a Cube store, they plugged in a diagnostic reader and knew that I had tampered with the speed sensor to which I told them I really don't care, it's my bike and I chose to bypass it. They cleared the fault codes from the bike... I rode out of the store and it threw up the same fault code once more. Error 523001. Long story short, they did NOT know how to fix the bike, it's about 7 months old and the speed sensor cable is showing no signs of wear although I am starting to think that replacing the sensor would be a good place to start.

Has anybody at all had similar issues with their smart system EMTB and know the fix? I couldn't care less about the cost, if it needs a new motor then so be it, although I would prefer a more cost effective solution before getting a new motor.

I appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Bosch CX Error 523001…

Some people have had success getting the sensor closer to the magnet.

This is a sensor error code, not a drive manipulation code, so is covered under warranty. You should not have admitted to derestricting the bike.
Take it to another dealer and they can fix it for you.

Thank you for your reply, yes you're right, the code is different to the drive manipulation I had months ago. Trouble is, the cube dealer knew that I'd de-restricted the bike after plugging it in to their reader, that's when I said yes I had de-restricted it. If I took it to another Cube store they would likely know also.

People sometimes get the manipulation error without any derestriction, so the science isn’t perfect. You only had it derestricted for 100 miles, thats nothing…
Anyway, check that link, I think you will sort it out.

They have cleared the codes thou
So as long as its not put on a dealer portal there will be no record of it and your going to a fresh dealer with a fresh problem
Definitely worth a try .

The previous guy commenting showed me another thread, looks like it's a problem with the distance between the sensor and the magnet so I'll try that before I go to another dealer as it could be a quick 5 minute fix.
On the other thread someone said he got a new engine under warranty from Bosch and the problem persisted, it was about the magnet and sensor distance for him.
