Chainring

I ordered the Hope 36T chainring so that I spend longer up in the cassette to reduce wear. The Kenevo comes with a 32T (Gen 3 Levo with 34T).

However after I ordered I found out that hardly anyone has been able to fit one that size on a Kenevo!

I started to fit it when it arrived anyway. It Fits!!!!

Hardly any space between the chainstay and the teeth but enough so that it doesn’t foul. This makes it even more perfect for me!

OneUp EDC V2 Steerer Tool

I had the standard SWAT kit on the Levo but didn’t come with the Kenevo as it had dual crown. I’ve always wanted to try the OneUp kit as it has so much included, as well as some storage space too.

Due to me having oval steerer in the Fox 38, I needed to cut new threads so the install can take place.

Really worthwhile, fantastic product!

New Fork Lowers

As signposted I thought the Fox Factory Orange was ‘a bit much’ against the frame colour. Sunglasses required!

So J-Tech sent me some new black lowers complete with seals, air release valves, hose clip and axle.

I ordered an invisiframe kit as the lowers always take most of the abuse for me. I also had Slik make me some official Fox licensable decals. I’ve tried loads and Slik are OEM spec. Don’t waste your money!

First job was to remove the lowers. This means that a full lower service is required, which is quite strange as I’ve only done a few hours on them as they are fairly new. I did a service as soon as they arrived new where I changed the air shaft from 170mm to 180mm.

No surprise that everything was looking good.

Process went smoothly as it always does. I love the new look as it all seems much more integrated now.

Question - how long did Slik take to get back to you? I’ve been trying to get a reply about S-Works graphics for a week already. I remember last time I got ROVAL graphics from them they took ages. I’m tempted to get some coloured Industry Nine ones for my wheels too.

I’ve always just used their configurator and always upgraded the delivery service. I get the kit within a few days. If you don’t upgrade the delivery it could take 2 weeks!

Configurator? I can’t see that?
They don’t list any Specialized graphics - only frame protection. I know they do them though, as Specialized sent them to me last time I needed!

I did a query on their ‘contact us’ page, and then tried replying to an email from my last purchase… however no one has got back to me yet.

Not in any real hurry - but it’d be nice to get acknowledged and order what I want.

I’ve not bought frame decals, just had a look and can see Spesh isn’t listed!

Love what you've done here. I'd be nit-picking but all I would change would be the rotors...I find the Mdrs very difficult to straighten when bent and also the float point gets extremely loose after a while, they do work well though. I definately prefer triple clamp forks however as they just feel so rock solid. Factory 38s are a pretty good compromise though. Really nice build 👍

I am considering getting Fox 40s in the future but love the practicality of the single crown at the moment.

I’ve got a few other rotors in 220 form (E.g Sram HS2’s etc) so if these don’t continue to perform then I can swap out. They certainly have a bad rep for sure.

Proper ride out …

I took Shrek out to Llandegla which is my local trail.

In summary it didn’t break, performed spot on and is absolutely everything I wanted from it!

A nice 2 hour ride and many laps / sessions.

I was surprised at how much difference the 36T made compared to the 32T.

I need to tweak the suspension as I feel the shock has slightly more rebound than the fork on jumps.

Can’t wait to get back out on it again today.

Had an awesome day out at Llandegla again today.

I increased compression and rebound in the fork which makes it feel more balanced in the air. Quite a few PBs made on Strava too.

Only issue was the chain came off the chainring on compression from a large jump. So I need to review a solution for the chain guide.

Bit if an update.

I’ve put loads of miles on the Kenevo since the build. All up in Llandegla.

It’s been amazing, allowing me to put down some PBs and crowns on Strava.

Don’t think I’ve ridden a more capable super enduro type bike!

Doesn’t even compare to the Levo which I upgraded to 180 F and 165 R through the Cascade LT link. It’s a completely different offering. My advice would be to leave the Levo at its standard travel but if you wanted to go for something bigger - get a Kenduro!

Anyway ….. my Galfer Purple pads arrived and I fitted. Quite a bit more fat on them than the MT7 Pro pads so needed to reset the pistons. I used these on the Saints and they were SHARP! So they are going to be insane on my setup. I think they will be arguably the most powerful combo.
