Listen. Amflow isn't supplying the bikes directly. The are being sold through Local Bike Stores. And as I have posted in this thread previously. I have been in contact with Camden Cycles. They have clearly stated the Amflow EMTB is restricted to 25kph. And any tampering with this, will void your warranty.Your not getting pal
Obviously you can do what you want to a bike once you have bought it if your not bothered about the law or your warranty and i absolutely have no problem with that but that’s not the issue here , the law and legislation on motor speed and output is black and white for the manufacturers and if they get caught braking that by supplying the bikes not complying they will get stopped completely.
You just cant do that.
There was a famous case going back a few years regarding KTM where they supplied a full power 125 to a young lad who should have been restricted to 12 BHP according to his country law he crashed the bike and died and KTM were taken to court and found guilty.
Nope that’s incorrect unfortunately.Listen. Amflow isn't supplying the bikes directly. The are being sold through Local Bike Stores. And as I have posted in this thread previously. If other distributors are not setting the limits correctly. It has nothing to do with the brand name on the bike. It's on the local distributors for the bikes to comply with local legislation.
Just like in New Zealand, the local distributors are increasing the limits on the same bike as mine, with a Shimano Motor, to 45kph. As that is the law.
My guess is, Thats a reason why can not sell as emtb in all countries right now"the obvious illegal speed limit they are allowing customers to achieve with this system ? "
All motors can have their regions changed. This then changes it limits.Nope that incorrect unfortunately
It is absolutely the manufacturers responsibility! They should not be selling the bike with an option and the ability to change the region and there for brake the law. No other motor manufacturer is or has does that for that exact reason , you can’t seriously then push the blame on the dealer for not changing it when the customer can simply change it back !!!
They need to stop being sloppy with that department and like everyone else have the bikes set to the proper country/ region before sending them to distro ! It’s black and white otherwise when shit comes to shove , and it will !! They will be blaming each other ….. there is an obvious reason why Bosch , Yamaha , Bros and Shimano to mention to big top 4 all do not give the distro , dealer ans certainly not the customer the ability to change it because they know then they can keep the supply with no issues. DGI are braking the law and it won’t be long before it all comes to a stop unfortunately.
More speculation. Why don't you guys actually ask Amflow Support in this forum, and get a factual response, rather than continue the speculation ?My guess is, Thats a reason why can not sell as emtb in all countries right now
Well it can be done to a Shimano Motor. So I guess you have more threads to protest in.They should not be selling the bike with an option and the ability to change the region and there for brake the law.
… your misinterpreting what I am saying , obviously there are ways to cheat and hack anything , software or hardware chips can and do change the region but again and for the record I don’t give a shit myself but it’s against the law to do so. Shimano and Bosch etc do not supply the bikes to the dealers with the ability to access the option to change to limit for an obvious reason….. because if they do they are liable end of.Well it can be done to a Shimano Motor. So I guess you have more threads to protest in.

I agree let’s agree to disagree but in essence I don’t think we are disagreeing, perhaps I am not getting my point across very well …… I like you would absolutely change my speed limit / region on my bike if I had the ability to so without any warranty issue etc and would take it on the chin if I got into hot water because of it 100%.All motors can have their regions changed. This then changes it limits.
If customers, like me, change the settings. It's not on the bike supplier.
Anyway. We clearly disagree. And that is fine.
You might not give a shit and that fine but if you worked in the industry you too would be concerned as if it goes tits up and there’s issues with obviously law and legislation brakes they could easily end up recategorising e-bikes and that would effect all of us unfortunately. There is a reason why none of the other manufacturers offer the end user the ability to change it."Personally I don'y care"!
You clearly do.
May I suggest, you worry about more important things.
Not had any issues with flex etc, and i took the bike to Dyfi recently and ran it in back to back testing with my V10 DH bike. All these nay-sayers obviously ride like peppa pigI see the loam wolf review of the amflow seems to think that the frame is very flexy when ridden hard.
Is this a trait that any owners on here have noticed?

While Amflow’s PL Carbon Pro eMTB is a game changer in some aspects, it does have some polarizing ride traits, that could make it...theloamwolf.com

No worries, genuinely it’s not something imI didn’t say I don’t care.
I said you need to find something else to worry about.
I get the UK has the 15.5mph rule but it’s not a speed limit as such, you can pedal the bike much faster than that.
Comparing an E-MTB to a much heavier/faster motorcycle doesn’t work either.
The rule is in place to for good reason; the fact it’s different the world over shows that it’s not necessarily the right solution.
If someone decides to clampdown on this very specific situation, it will done with a software update. There will be minimal fuss.
From what I can tell, if an Amflow is linked to riders phone and uses GPS (for the security features) the bike will automatically correct the region it’s in. Same goes if you install a SIM card.
Appreciate that if you worked for a company/bike shop that didn’t sell Amflow, you may well be frustrated that this maybe a reason for a customer to choose and Amflow and not a brand that you could sell them.
When I spoke with my local dealer, it was telling when he said they had received no orders for the SC Vala, and the only real ‘Seller’ was indeed the Amflow.
Have you ridden an Amflow yet?No worries, genuinely it’s not something im
Losing sleep over but it will go tits up for them if they don’t correct it which would babe a shame for everyone, as for not selling SC Vala I think that’s more to do with the shop wanting to sell the Amflow now while it’s hot property, at least the the shops I know of that sell SC in the uk have already sold there allocation of bikes so I don’t think that’s an issue , that bike with the Bosch motor is imo the best bike bike out there.
Not yet looking forward to it tho , that’s my point it’s an ace exciting motor system and it would absolutely suck if it were to fail for legal reasons ! Personally I want to see it in a more Enduro based bike which will obviously come some. That said for me the Vala is perfect for what I would want right now and I have tried the new Bosch gen5 and loved it so if it gets the toque update that’s supposed to be coming that would be even better.Have you ridden an Amflow yet?
It not just about travel (but even then the amflow is more on the trail side of travel numbers than it is enduro) , it's about geometry, components and suspension design too(leverage curve etc), the amflow is straddling the line between trail bike and enduro bike in all those areas IMO, but is biased a little more towards trail than enduro, but I get that's just my opinion and others may see it differently.I just don’t understand people saying more enduro…Enduro always was 150-160mm travel mainly 29ers…exactly what the Amflow is
I have a Santa Cruz Heckler currently so was excited to see the Vala when it was launched but the rumours about a power update (not guaranteed) with a 600wh battery turned me off.Not yet looking forward to it tho , that’s my point it’s an ace exciting motor system and it would absolutely suck if it were to fail for legal reasons ! I have ridden the Vala and the new system gave me around the same ride time as my older 750 / gen4 Bosch did which for me is more than enough as I never ran my old battery flatI have a Santa Cruz Heckler currently so was excited to see the Vala when it was launched but the rumours about a power update (not guaranteed) with a 600wh battery turned me off.
And before anyone says about the power pack thingamy, I’m so done with carrying a spare battery, I didn’t want to go through it again.
But it won’t if it has a power upgrade.I have ridden the Vala and the new system gave me around the same ride time as my older 750 / gen4 Bosch did which for me is more than enough as I never ran my old battery flat
lol fit what ? If the new battery is on par with the old one then sure the current 750w is enough ? Also they do the range extender that sits on the down tube that gives another 250w if really needed (also the Bosch flow app is decent at setting your values so if you don’t need the power , if it comes then you can simply dial it down to suit )But it won’t if it has a power upgrade.
Who buys a ‘full’ power E-MTB and then dumbs down the power?lol fit what ? If the new battery is on par with the old one then sure the current 750w is enough ? What are you on about ! I think the Amflow is mega and motor is clearly amazing my concern is about the legal side as I don’t wanna buy one and find out they get banned or something stupid down to sending bikes out that brake the law, in all fairness there brand new to it so there’s a fair reason to be concerned, as for the Vala it’s my other choice like a lot of people looking at the moment those for me are the two best bikes. Personally I couldn’t care less what you buy next maybe keep you old Heckler and buy a few more battery’s seeing as you love carrying them around so muchWho buys a ‘full’ power E-MTB and then dumbs down the power?
And like I said above, I no longer want to carry an extra battery around.
Either way, you seem to be a fan. Your energy would be better spent in the SC pages praising them, then being negative in the Amflow pages.
