Now FWIW I purchased the monthly GCN+ package over the weekend. I watched the semis live on the youtube link (good for NZ that these are earlier in the afternoon now) then watched the finals on GCN+.

Picture IMO on GCN+ is better and sharper than what redbull was, The commentary as mentioned last week is growing on me, and I really enjoyed the racing (my fantasy team not so).

So happy for Vali and Andreas! What a day for Austria. Pretty happy to watch a race weekend for the cost of a cup of coffee

Pretty stoked for Andi, he's toiled away at it for a while & watching some out of season videos, it's obvious he's a good guy. Good when good things happen for good people.

I watched a bit of the xc last night. Ric commentating with Bart and the slower pace of the racing is more tolerable. They work well together, Bart has always been very good.
Another encouraging sign I took away from this round regarding the broadcast team , was seeing the presenter (Kate?) genuinely affected by the atmosphere at the end of finals. Hopefully this will help her begin to understand the sport , how dedicated the racers and how passionate the fans are.
Roll on Val Di Sole!

Those races, the Megavalanche etc. are on my bucket list, Then I come to my senses & tip the bucket upside down. Meanwhile, there's a fair amount of noise coming out of various world cup yt channels about track speeds at Lenzerheide & Leogang. I've seen complaints about the number of injuries & mono line, bikepark nature of the racing so far. Be interesting to see what they say after Val di Sole, which is effectively one long rock garden.

I watched a few helmet cams from Mountain of Hell this week. Always entertaining !
Hows this guy , sliding on his hands and knees backwards while 800 riders come barreling down the glacier towards him at 80-100kmh!!

Back to Val Di Sole this week. Some changes to the track, they've filled alot of the holes in so it's looking fairly smooth and added some new bits off the mainline. Some rain forecast so think it will probably be roughed up for the race on Sat.

Jordan Williams (as junior) was the fastest time down the hill last year, would be good to see him get another win!

Where the feck are the timings when a rider crosses the finish? Why is it so difficult to see how far ahead / behind a rider is when they finish?

Make it obvious FFS!

They seem to be trying various different systems and don't seem to have got their crap together/producer is in the bar.

On one you get an overlay of the track. Others with timings, others without. Some you can see the live timing on the physical timing boards.

The drone footage is quite cool, though I think the pilot needs to follow more people in qualifying to get to grips with it/angles a bit more.

I quite like Cédric Gracia, but I can't say he comes over as a natural commentator and they seem to be interfering with each other more and more rather than gelling and bonding/becoming unified as time goes by.

Not sure what you mean? Seems pretty obvious on my screen? Do you have a different' feed perhaps? I am using GCN+.

Must admit I find that part hard to see on the graphic and it's that part you REALLY want to process quickly.

You can also just look at the placing next to the name which goes up as soon as they cross the line.

I don’t have any issue with GCN it’s better visual quality than red bull ever was and give the man that flies the drone between the trees a beer. Such a great view

I have live timing up on a second monitor. If you're watching the stream on the big screen , maybe get live timing up on your phone. It has all the info you need and is clear and easy to read.

Pretty crazy race what with the changing conditions and gnarly track but hats off to those that left absolutely nothing on the hill a went all out!
