Just wondered if there was anybody out there that had received their new 2020 Canyon Spectral:ON yet??

Placed my order for a CF8 back in March for a June delivery but just had a COVID delay of another 4 weeks!!?

It would be nice to see a few pictures or get your views on the bike as there doesn’t appear to be much out there since the original press release?

Come on Rob when are you going to get your hands on one and give us a proper review?????

I ordered three weeks ago - CF8 stealth medium - and the shipping date of 13th-17th July hasn't changed. I note the large is now listed as being in stock, as are a bunch of the new Grand Canyon:On's, so things seem to be happening!

I went for the Neuron:ON 9.0 and have the same dates, i hope that isn't a best guess from Canyon? Hopefully is a worst case estimate

I Havnt paid yet, apparently they contact you 3 weeks before dispatch ?‍♂️
These timescales were from buying mine in stock. I noticed timescales changing to weeks ahead of that as stock of the older alloy models lowered. If in doubt id go hit them up on the online chat and just ask.

They just hit me for payment today, so hopefully my bike might get dispatched earlier that the advertised 13-17th July...... Hopefully ?

Be good to see some of these out in the wild, and get some real world reviews
Won't be mine anytime soon, I'm in 2 minds to cancel now, next year's bikes come out in September! ?

Hmm - I wonder if they have just decided to delay the launch till when the new Shimano motors and batteries are available - that date coincides with when several other brands are rumoured to be announcing new models with the updated systems.

I would ask Canyon if you keep the order open, will you end up getting the new model?

Nice! I assume that's a large. My questions would be, do you think a 29er 2.35" rear will fit, and is there clearance for a bigger chainring (and it looks like the chain guide is fixed so that might be a problem too)?

Yeah, it’s a size large. No idea about a bigger rear wheel but the chain guide defo looks set to a 34 tooth chainring with no adjustment.

Thanks! It looks like you could mod the chain guide or fashion a new one (or just remove it) to take a 36t or 38t. Is there enough clearance at the chainstay? I'll use the bike for commuting (if we're ever allowed back in work) and I'd rather not spend most of the ride in the 10t like with my Altitude Powerplay.

ps. Like the alu crank bolt, smart move

Looks like you can loosen the bolt and slide it up for a larger chainring?

What Torque in Nm did you set them to?
Those bolts look like Aluminium to me so that's a clue that they are probably not high Torques .. my guess would be in the 10-20Nm range and certainly do not go any higher than what the manufacturer says.
The chewed up bolt looks like you've either used a damaged Hex or for some reason a ball head which you should never use to crack or finalise tightening a bolt with if possible or you've gone way over the maximum Torque... So I'd check your Torque wrench isn't faulty.

Personally I'd release all the linkage bolts off and retorque them all to the manufacturers Torque values including the rear Axel through the wheel which i'm guessing will be 10-12 Nm ish but check first. Quick question.. is the Shifting crisp or is it ghosting at all?

I found this vid on a german forum, bike isn't mine. Open the vid on youtube, there are more Q & A's in the comment section.

Is that a 100% fact? Looking to hand over the money for one mid-August, if a new one will come out a few weeks later that may grate a bit...

The 630Wh Battery has already been announced, the motor is due release. (we already know the bigger battery does not fit this frame) Alot of bike manufacturers are holding off until the end of august for their next models. so no canyon may not bring their next bike out strait away BUT the motor and definitely the battery will be available and other manufactures will be using it. Will canyon really want to be left behind realistically?

have a read of the EP8 Thread.

Have you had any ride yet? Are you able to shed any light on how that bad-boy goes?
Been out for a full battery flattening ride today (35miles) and can honestly say I’ve never smiled as much in my life!!!!
Rides like a dream. Very quiet, no rattles and handles far better than I was expecting for an E bike. I’m a very happy customer! ?
