My motor gave up at 2000 miles after 11 months of ownership. Regular issue with bearing and clutch bearing.
Anyway the bike has been at the lbs since end of May 2020. Bosch USA said they are waiting for motor replacement as they ran of out stock.
ETA is end of July.

I get a Loaner powerfly 5 which is terrible compare to the powerfly 9.7.
Can’t wait anymore.

Did anybody has the same issue waiting for a replacement?

When sales start to really slow down, and all stock isn't going out the door before it's put on a shelf, they will probably look at your replacement warranty motor. Generally big business' #1 goal is profit. You're lucky you got a loaner - that was good of the LBS!

This must be a US problem. I’m UK based and I collected my new 2021 Rail 7 from my LBS and left him with my PF7 that had play in the crank bearings (2700miles). Got a call from him 6 days later to say the bike was ready to collect with a nice new motor supplied under warranty by Bosch. I’ve got no complaints with Bosch, that’s a proper thumbs up from me ?

Hi, my name is Brian and I’m new to the forum, I have a 2019 Powerfly 9.7 with 2500 miles and lbs indicates I need a new motor and Bosch won’t cover it. Symptoms are when turning pedals there is a sound like crickets and the movement is jerky. pedal action is not smooth either with motor on or off, jerks forward then smooth for a portion of the revolution then jerks again, several times per revolution. I loved my bike until this but Bosch told lbs that ’its normal’ whatever that means. How was your problem resolved? Thank you for your reply not sure what to do.

Bosch eventually fixed it. For my other bike I ordered a bearing kit repair. I will work on it this weekend. I will report how it went. I think In Your case you need the all kit repair including the two one way bearing as you said it is jerky.

Thank you for the information, guess I better learn how to do it as I want to keep the bike, have no choice really. Did you order the all kit through Bosch outlet in U.S.? LBS is still trying to get Bosch to repair. May buy another motor to have on hand for future use as I’m retired and don’t want to wait months for a repair when I have no other source of fun! Ha, good luck with your repair, let me know how it goes

I made it. I replaced the two bearings on the right side one on the left. I bought it At www.performancelinebearings.com. They do have plenty of videos on how to deal with it. They also have many kit options for the repair and they ship locally in the US as well.

Anyway, it was not a walk In the park. You need a press to remove the bearing and the clutch bearing on the right side. Without it, you will fail.
Take many pictures as you need when you open it. It will save you some time as I messed up a bit.
The result is awesome and the motor works well with no problems. It cost me $100 for those 3 Bearings which is super expensive but better than a new motor.

I was thinking of ordering those bearings to.
My motor has become noisy whenever i peddle and i give some more pressure.
So you cant get the bearings out if u dont have a press? And how hard is it to replace the left one ?

I can take it to a bike shop but then i still dont have the left bearing changed.

The left one is ok to remove with an hammer but not recommended. Both of mines were dry the left and right. I think replacing the left one may not be a long time repair.

Bosch and lbs honored their warranty and I now have a new motor and riding the hills again. Have ordered a mudstop, thank you for answering my questions.
