Beware of buying Magura MT7 pads from totalbleedsolutionsuk on Ebay

Ordered 2 sets of MT7 pads from TBS and expected to receive 2 x 4 pads, however only 2 pairs of ceramic pads arrived instead of a set of ceramic and a set of sintered. I thought a quick message to them would result in a simple resolution but apparently I was a fault for presuming a set for the MT7 caliper would be a complete set of 4.

"Hi - a set is 1 pair. Some models only need 1 pair." was their first reply, so I explained which Magura calipers take 2 pads and those that have 4 pads and I thought they'd just send me 4 sintered pads.

Their listing doesn't mention pair anywhere although the picture does show only 2 pads

Their final message shows they'd prefer to lose a customer than send a complete set of pads (though they also admitted they were out of stock of the sintered);

Which is a shame as I've purchased 2 bleedkits from them before with no issues but won't be using them again.

They did a similar thing with a Magura caliper I bought - listing image showed it with the banjo connector, but it came without......gave me some pish about contacting the Magura rep and they confirmed the caliper came without it, despite the image.

Bleed kit is great though.

Slightly confused, but I'm on a lot of painkillers. Pics would have helped.
Assuming the 4 piece set of pads rather than the 2 piece set, If they claim sending 2 of the 4 needed for an mt7 caliper is acceptable, then that's pretty shady advertising. Send them back via eBay.

Do a PayPal dispute and get it sorted. I’ve been mis-sold stuff a few times on eBay, and PayPal have sorted it out. It’s always gone in my favour (so far - touch wood!!).

Usually pads are advertised for 1 caliper (2 pads = 1 set). When advertising front and rear you often see "Full set of pads for front and rear" or something similar. That has been my experience in 20 years or so of using MTB disk brakes.

I would of thought should get 4 individual pads for MT7s as that’s 1set I can get hold of Galfer ebike pads for MT7 they are purple & rotors

They won’t have known it needs 4 pads per calliper — this is e-bay not your lbs (this is a big plus about the lbs when there’s parts availability, so not now then). But when you pointed that out, they should have sorted it. Understandably though, you would pay twice as much.

And, obviously, I won’t be buying from them ever and I hope others reading your post won’t either.

No, they’re not an LBS… but the specialise in brakes and have over 16,000 positive feedback on eBay. Surely this isn’t the first time an MT5 / MT7 needing 4 pads has cropped up?!

Yes, I’m starting to agree…. If you were to search for this business name using Google, it’s theoretically possible, however unlikely, that you might find a similarly named company with a different address selling on a different online storefront and, if that happened, that theoretically could also have positive and, equally importantly, negative feedback published. The negative feedback is especially pertinent reading, as it turns out….
