Slightly off topic but the same tragic end can occur.

A low IQ co-worker started bragging about how a cannabis plantation was protected by trip wires. These wires were connected to guns. WTF

During my hikes in the deep woods I would occasionally discover one. I would never approach.

I explained to the worker that I occasionally hike with my children and that I plan on notifying the police.

I personally think the guy was full-of-sh+t, but it still reminds me that there are some idiots out there.

Same thing happened to Taddy Blazusiac from the world of motorcycle enduro. Someone tied a wire across a trail in his training ground.
Bear in mind the armour and protection worn is considerably more than on a MTB, but the neck area is particularly vulnerable, I've been ripped by many a bramble on tight trails!
