I thought it might be helpful if anybody with an EMTB like me has any questions on what it is like to have. I can answer it here?
as a note I have by U.K. definition the virus. With pretty much a continuous cough that started up on Saturday.

@wepn No testing in U.K. unless hospitalised. But I know it is because it doesn’t in anyway feel like anything else experienced. Plus the cough is relentless.
@Zimmerframe the short answer is a cough that wasn’t persistent. A few days before was an odd little cough once in a while. Then on Sunday just started coughing to clear throat that didn’t clear it. Then symptoms changed.

2. week of February 2 colleges and me(military) was on a business trip to Monaco and Nice. 3 day after we returned home we all 3 became very sick with influenza symptoms, my wife got it as well and also became very sick. My other colleges wife also became very sick and was hospitalized for 14 days. For natural reasons(lying in bed) we all stayed home until free of symptoms but none of us, including doctors, had the slightest thought that it could be Covid 19 so none of us was tested. We are all fine again but for example I lost all my smell sense as well as my ability to taste and it is just only now it is slowly returning to normal.

Just to add to the story I cannot remember when I last time had an Influenza so it must be more than 40 years ago and the last 20 years I have had less than 5 days off due to illness, so normally my health is rock solid.

Did I have Covid 19 I will probably never know but it sure was different than anything else I have tried so far.

Get well soon Shifty and listen to your body and don't wait too long to ask for help if need be!!

I hope you’re ok mate And echo the other advice about seeking help if things escalate. A huge proportion of the population is predicted to get it and the majority will see it pass like a cold/flu. Many more on this forum will get it.

I’m on the govt ‘shield’ list now (one of the 1.5M that are) so I’m in isolation for 3 months minimum now.

Bring on the testing, antibody testing, anti-virals and then vaccine. Then this wave will be done.

Hope you’re ok, and get through it without any difficulties ??

Like many, I developed a ridiculous cough a couple of weeks back. Relentless, and wouldn’t seem to shift. Even now, I still have the remains of it.
I had 2 days where I felt floored, and spent most of them in my bed. High temperature, and aching body.

I carried on as normal - as far as I could. Was it a standard winter cold / flu... or was it something more sinister? Who knows?

Maybe one day there will be a test, and I can find out if I had it or not. If I did, I was lucky and had a fairly mild dose.

I’ve had a lot of people contact me and say they had bad throats and fever about 5-6 weeks ago so probably had it already. I did too.
I can tell you that the dry cough is totally different and the feeling of drowning is very scary and odd. So I wouldn’t take it for granted that you have. lots of hot drinks ease the coughing

Was that the feeling of fluid on the lungs or excess phlegm?

Losing the sense of smell and taste has been reported as one of the symptoms of Covid-19. Doesn't happen to everyone though.

Remember it was 13 days ago I was probably infected and I had absolutely no symptoms for the first 9 of them. Sadly this is the problem Plus no fever needed. Once fevers in told by the other two that that’s about 5-8 days after coughing if your body hasn’t cleared it. I am so glad I didn’t visit my mum and dad during the first few days of no symptoms.

Fri 21st feb I was ruff , aching all over so when I got home had a bath and went straight to bed . Spent all day Saturday aching , sweating and shivering ! My partner was abit worried as she was going to Italy with work for a week , late that Saturday night . But I convinced her I’d battle through it and she should go . Man I’ve never felt so bad ( I’ve also had flu a few times ) , this was bad ! Was relieved to wake Sunday morning with a bad headache and a sore throat which turned into a painful cough which hurt so much my stomach muscles were sore ! Don’t remember smell/taste though as didn’t eat .
Then watching telly all I see is Italy going nuts with this cov19 ! Spoke to mrs to find she now has my bug and is in bed not leaving the hotel ? Her work cancelled the meetings and flew back on the Wednesday , luckily she didn’t have it as bad as me and felt ok after a couple of days so was good to fly ! I was back working +day 6 and she’s been working from home since ! Was it or wasn’t it ? Hope it was so a little immune !

I hope you both get well. That’s a speedy recovery for you. I had the same as you 5 weeks ago described the same. So I thought I had had COVID but I’m on day 5 with two co workers who are about 10
And 12 and still not right. We all agreed although described as flu like it’s not anything like. Especially the throat and breathing issues.

Biggest problem is that without being tested there's no way of knowing if you have had the virus or not, I have had all the symptoms of covid 19 fever, persistent dry cough etc but I had all this in October of last year, if I had those symptoms now I would probably be thinking I have covid 19 but without a test who knows

Your preventions are shown as myths by the WH Organisation and are dangerous. It’s dangerous to peddle them. The new scientist states that it needs water at least 60’c. As you can’t wash your hands in this, that’s why you need Hot water, soap and 20 seconds as recommended by WHO. Hot liquids you drink don’t kill it as the virus is in your upper respiratory tract. You get a sore throat by dry coughing 24-7! Plus another myth about using a handrier or hairdryer is another bad myth. See WHO myth section.

@ everyone! It would help (me at least) if those who have had or got the virus would say how old the are. At least as reported in the UK, it appears that those who are severely affected are mostly at the older end of the spectrum.

The WHO has dropped the ball so badly and so often with this that I am starting to ignore anything coming from them.

Firing up a remote desktop server at one of my clients this morning they reckon most of that is actually helpful common sense info based on current info. If you don't follow all the other precautions like wearing a mask and proper hygiene it won't help much.

Most of all:
STAY AT HOME as much as possible.
Washing hands is important, but if you wear short sleeve shirts - wash all uncovered skin - especially if you are one who leans on counters or door jams etc.
If you are someone who touches your face a lot - use sanitiser often.

The virus hates heat and dies if it is exposed to temperatures greater than 80°F (27°C). Therefore hot drinks such as infusions, broths or simply hot water should be consumed abundantly during the day.
What?
You're saying luke warm drinks kill the virus?
