Thanks Einstein.
How about you actually read what I typed before making aspersions on my exact diet?.. Maybe read more slowly...
Clue: what outcome will cutting exercise load but not calorie intake have? .
I don't ride Emtb longer or further than I rode regular bikes as they simply do not have the range. But even if they did I'd have to ride them a whole lot MORE to burn the same amount of calories.
You put on a stone in a few months, so you're on target to put on 4 stone in a year!
Umm no, that ain't nothing to do with riding ebikes and everything to do with your diet.
peope aren't here to be insulted, I'm sure we've had this conversation before, your little green box does not give you the right to insult people, pull ya head in Gazza, let's all be friends, that's why we are here, I understand you get frustrated if peope don't agree with you, relax mate, breathe...
So I got the bike to recover from a hip fracture. Using eco mainly on trails.
Do we think there is much health benefit on e-bike?

Funny you say about the wine .. I always thought that "French" Strava should monitor for particularly slow segment times and flag these as "RW" - for where an obvious mid segment red wine break has taken place.
i just googled and the fat burning zone is bs, apparently higher intensity burns fat better BUT this can be achieved with intervals. So the long low heart rate ride is not an efficient fat burner. Also to really burn the fat you should not load up on carbs/ gels, but i like sugar and caffeine so forget that
Don't think its BS as much as its not totally binary between the 2. Its best to do a mix of both..
Also totally depends on what your goal is and what you body type is. I eat lots of carbs but it works for me, I can keep my weight pretty steady. Ive tried to not eat carbs and my body responds terribly.. just zero energy, same with high carb low fat(vegan), tried that too also felt terrible.
Think the long window of eating helps too.. at least for me.. I eat dinner by 5pm and don't eat until about 9am next day.
Most important thing to do is pay attention to how a particular food makes you feel, also not a bad idea to try and abstain from one thing for a few weeks and see, basically you have to experiment.
another strange thing I have found for myself is that caffeine after 10am will make me lose athletic ability. If I have an espresso and go for a ride I suffer very low energy on trail, counter intuitive but true for me.
Did you bounce back up - or maintain somewhere near your lower weight?I did Keto a few years back, lost 19.5kg in 12 weeks, that shit works but hard to sustain over the long term.

I'm 57 and tried the 5-2 Diet (on TV with Dr Michael Mosley) after a 6 week holiday in Europe with the family and eating out 3 times a day plus far too much grog, was around 78kgs when I left and came back touching 86kgs.
After about 3 months on the diet of basically crispy skin salmon and as much salad as you want for 2 days a week and what ever you fancy for the other 5 days I found myself at 75kgs. Pretty happy with that, and now with a bit of gym 2-3 days a week and ebiking 2-3 days a week it seems to be staying that way, happy days.
My experience is exactly...not the same as yours. No, it's tough to lose weight with the help of a bicycle.
I went from 90kg to 82kg in the first 3 months of riding, now I have settled around 85kg but hope to shift more next year
I have noticed lower resting heart rate at around 55 from 64.
I think a lot comes down to what mode you have the motor in, I try and keep in Eco on flat and down hill but I have to admit I do prefer tour for everything else and do sometimes like Turbo or hard climbs if I am feeling tired or in a lazy mood and out purely to do gravity fed stuff.
I agree , But I do like the extra assistance when steep push ups are what I am hitting all day to do the DH stuff, I also have to admit I never feel guilty taking over people but always do it respectfullyI have yt decoy e8000 and I gave up on modes.. I just keep it in trail, I don't notice any difference in range if i use eco on flats etc, obviously if you ride in eco everywhere it will make a difference but I found leaving it in trail and rarely using boost or eco is as efficient as cycling through power modes.

I lost 30 lbs when i started riding ebikes.

Maybe... I ride exclusively in boost.I think a lot comes down to what mode you have the motor in,
