Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

Not yet. So far haven't got the rear of the bike feeling "good" I constantly seem to be messing with the psi trying to get something else out of it.

It's possible I just don't get a long with an air shock. Have not looked into if this bike can take coil (I assume it can).

214 to 216 psi with a rider weights of 208 lbs.

Fork I got where I wanted it by replacing the damper with an MRP lift. Which is great because they build them to rider weight.
I’ve had two rides on my coil now and it feels great, not done any big drops yet but it seems to be good on sag and feel so far, no pedal strikes and it feels better on the SL than on my Ripmo V2s that donated it

I got the Shimano e914 error code at the end of my last ride. Just pulled the motor to clean / reconnect / grease the battery to motor contacts.

This is really not confidence inspiring for long term durability. Everything seems to be "minimally made". My RC car has better connectors / wiring than this.

After a particularly wet and muddy Xmas club ride i got the 914 error, did your cleaning sort it for you?

You can't see it in the picture. The power plug goes into the motor and almost hangs below the frame. I

You need to remove the chain ring (I used a chain whip) to access the motor bolts. When you remove the motor, bolt spacers yeet themselves out.

Ah yes i remember now from when i fitted my Di2, the square one into the motor

I just don't understand why these things were designed like this.

I get not sealing for water. You want drain holes etc.

But mud and dirt?
My only idea is minimum fuss equals minimum weight, put it all back together and thought i’d broken it, turns out i had to press the battery reset button, who knew 😂

I wonder if it is pure Shimano issue, or something with Cannondale own battery? And I doubt whether it is connected to any dust in the sockets, I cleared it and secured and error 914 occured. And Cannondale, in order to disconnect the battery and "repair" error 914, provided a neat button. Just check instruction


Page 17 - button to "Battery fault reset".

Large - a hair under 6 feet (182cm). I changed the stem immediately for a 50mm. Ideally would be on a 55mm But the 50 works fine and I had it. My Jekyll was a tad longer and I preferred that feel.

What bikes do you ride now?

I am bad with names, apparently I am bad with names on the Internet too.

I think with a 50mm stem a medium will feel great. Especially with the slightly shorter rear end.

Have to say, this Darfon custom 601 battery does not like the cold, it seems to have become quite sensitive recently, the last two charges have resulted in the BMS needing resetting, they've been charged between 5-10 deg Celsius, anyone know how i can check battery health and actual % of the battery, my Etube Project App on my phone or laptop don't recognise the battery , which i assume is because it's a Darfon and not a Shimano battery

I received the dreaded e914 @ about 300 miles, cycled the power and continued up the trail then my bike completely shutdown. Took it to the local dealer and found out I was the 3rd Moterra SL owner to have this error. One bike only needed the connector cleaned, one received a new battery, and my bike received a new battery and drive unit per Shimano.
I only have about 15 miles on the new equipment, and other than a slight loss of efficiency riding @ 4* C, the new battery seems fine..

The downtime was a little longer than I would have liked waiting for parts to arrive, but these are machines with electronics and will be prone to failures.

I’ve not had any more since cleaning my connections just before Xmas although the battery is performing nowhere near as good as a friends Wild with a 625wh Bosch battery and i’m having to reset the BMS a fair bit, i’m going to wait until it warms up a bit and see if my battery is still underperforming and take it back to the LBS if so
