I'm very happy for this, because, in my opinion, but it is only my opinion, the speed limit should be not removed because the Levo is a eBike for mountain and on trail on mountain is not safety to go over 25km/h..
May be the other parameters could be changed also on the new Levo.. we will see..

I use my hardtail Levo MY2017 for cross country only, most of the time for commuting (i changed the wheelsize with the official levo app). i safe up 4 hours a month or 40 hours a year, which is essential for me. I never feel unsafe with the levo when my speed is 27km/h because with my road bike it would be more on flat terrain. i feel much more safe when i pass villages or cities with 27km/h than with 25. That's said - the 25 limit depends on your activity or your terrain? I personaly canceled my reservation for MY2019.

Is the motor remote made of plastic or metal, hard to tell from the photo.
I like to lube the chain and remove wheels for packing into the car with the bike upside down so the remote needs to be robust.

Plastic. But seems slightly fatter than the last one.

Translated:
Previously there was a backdoor for illegal engine tuning: With third-party apps you could manipulate the wheel circumference so that the engine of the Turbo Levo supported over the allowed 25 km / h and not infrequently you saw Levos at high speeds the ice cream parlor. The software developers of Specialized have now announced the fight to this illegal activity and close all the behind-the-scenes for illegal tuning.

Don't worry, they cracked much more sophisticated protected systems like gaming Consoles and Denuvo protection for the PC games. You better believe that soon or a letter, someon will crack this, which is probably not even close to be unhackable like the examples I mentioned before.

i can’t really see anything game changing here specification wise - Really it’s bringing the bike in line with a lot of other bikes that are already out there/coming out.

I am interested to see if the way it rides moves anything forward.

I will give the levo a miss. Dont like any of the colours and third party app restrictions is a big nope from me. Also the fact it's way too expensive for something I will probably smash up and get filthy within the first few rides.

Mentions in the Emtb-Mag review that the motor gets very hot, and that the bolts holding it where too hot to touch - one thing I have always wondered about with Specialized is why the motor housing is so big/enclosed compared to other Brose equipped bikes. The unit is inherently quite compact, and I am guessing it purely for aesthetic reasons Specialized conceal it?

Just wondering if the 500 wh battery is physically the same size as 700 ....I'd rather by a spare 500 if it's smaller that 700 is huge

Specs are kind of 'meh' if not disappointing. The base AL model comes with a Sector, 32mm fork with 150mm travel, Level T brakes and if you want something half decent (and the 700Wh battery) you need to fork out £7250 for the Expert carbon.

I ordered my Kenevo yesterday instead of getting the new expert levo. Thanks to the forum for helping me with pros and cons to what model to buy. I’m in Southern California so we have all types of trails and a few DH parks, one requires the battery to be removed. So the kenevo with its ability to swap the battery in and out quick with out flipping the bike is great. And it fits in a backpack. As pointed out by another member in the post.

I love the 150mm travel on the new levo it hits such a huge market but the 29 tires are often hard to turn, I have an epic 29er HT. IMO so that’s a second disadvantage.

I’ll be starting a thread on my crazy Kenevo build today, and thanks again every one for the leaks and info.

Now I get to hurry up and wait for mine.
Were you on the 6am Confrence call today on allocation of bikes for the US market ? Just asking since you sound to have inside knowledge of delivery dates. Our Ambassador rep said October through February based on the model. I ordered a kenevo but I’d like to see these things in person.

Does anyone know the largest tire that could fit on the aluminum Turbo Levo FSR on the 29" wheels (would 2.8" or 3.0" tires fit)?
Also for North America, will the maximum speed be 20mph (32km/hr); or 15mph (25km/hr) like in Europe?
