I know 32 tooth is the smallest chainring that specialized recommends for levo. However, looking for a slightly lower gearing for ultra steep trails. Anyone successfully fit a 30 tooth chainring? I remember reading years ago that it was still possible to fit this with some workaround.

I put this on last year and love it. It makes climbing much better and is a harder steel than the stock Praxis. Bolts right on with stock hardware. Can even get it on w/out removing crank arm!

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. Got to go smaller CR since no rotator cuff tendons right shoulder/multiple bilateral shoulder injuries with weak shoulders making it hard to lift bike over gates on our rides. Otherwise I would've got the cassette.

It's at times like that you need the Brose "Turbo" combined with the Shimano "boost" to give you KITT's (knight rider) "Turbo Boost" to :

When used in combination with the Trajectory Guidance System and a pair of front-mounted rocket motors, the car could "jump" 40 feet into the air to avoid obstacles.

No more lifting over gates ! .. Or just buy a Kenevo .. we ride through gates . ;)o_O:LOL:

Yikes, Kenevo no can. You should hear the cackling as I'm wobbling to get the bike over the gate. Have to force myself to do it since I go up alone to do trail work frequently. But sometimes I almost fall over before I get it over the other side. Finally bit the bullet and bought an S Works model since a coworker wanted my Comp. That's a lot more manageable & with a light cross country wheelset no more wobbling haha. Finally, a benefit to being skinny.
