I was looking to pick up the 2025 Stereo hybrid one44 Race with the gen 5 Bosch and 800wh thats running out at £3999 however today I seen the 2024 Stereo Hybrid One55 SLX has some very tempting deals around £3800 right now as it's end of season. The spec seems a fair bit better overall compared to the 2025 One44 Race.

Any one got any downsides to the One55 other than the Gen 4 system and 750wh compared to the 800wh.

I was dead set on Gen 5 but now iv seen this and the differences it's seriously tempting.

Any advice would be massively appreciated

Warning: I have never ridden a Cube emtb.

But, the 2024 stereo one55 has the advantage of being a surprisingly light Bosch bike, with many builds coming in under 23kg. To accomplish that, they made some design choices that have underbiked the bike in some ways. One example would be the seatstays that are not bridged together, and which result in the back end feeling a bit flexy.
I have a shorter friend who has raced the one55 for a season getting great results on rough tracks, but he is a 60kg rider. So if you are planning to use the one55 as a trail bike, rather than an enduro bike, it will probably fare well.

For the 2025 stereo one44, they seem to have beefed up the frame and specs as the bikes are ~2kg heavier despite a 600g reduction in electronics, notably the seatstay bridge is in place. That said, for the small difference in price, I would go up to the SLX build to get a much nicer fork and slightly better drivetrain.
