Nope.

Its either a new bike or something to do with the Kenevo. I dont think it has the SL motor either. There is enough information from various places. Someone said the current Kenevo was being phased out which makes sense given the 2021 version was the same bike as the 2020. Probably Covid delayed this new Kenevo variant im guessing it was supposed to be the 2021 Model.

Im guessing Carbon framed with 38mm forks. Air shock and lighter weight design/focus. Probably either Mullet or mullet convertible given the patents around variable adjustable geo i saw a little while ago.

This will be my last ebike before solid state batteries are a thing. If it is what i expect it to be.

That would mean the Kenevo is only on a 2 year cycle so 2022 model would be a new design?
I still think the 2022 Levo will come out first

It should cycle 3 years. 2021 should be the last Levo of this design
A new lighter version Kenevo will not be the predecessor, it will be a different new standalone model while current Kenevo will be in production til 2023 model year

Not really because it just borrowed frame design from other bikes such as stumpy and levo. It also has no carbon moulds which is where much of the cost comes from in frame design. I also think its been fairly problematic with the coil shock setup. The back of the bike moves around far too much for the coil setup to work reliably. There is quite a lot of lateral force which twists the shock and its mounts. If i was a betting man its either this or they just cant get enough coil stock for warranty/new bikes due to covid. Either way it just stinks of a temporary fix for a bike on its way out. There are no rules about 3 year cycles on bikes, especially bikes that are alloy only.

If the replacement bike comes out about March time then as others have predicted then this fits the June end of Kenevo 21. Because the last bikes will be leaving the factory on the water for final delivery. Which also means that the new bike is likely in the warehouse or on the water right now.
well whatever happens first, i will get
but i will definitely get the next gen levo and a lighter version kenevo

Today I´ve had a phone call with my Specialized dealer to ask him about the rumors regarding a Kenevo SL.
He told me that "something" is going to be presented in March. He also told me that Specialized does not give any information anymore to their dealers until only one day before they present the new bike.

So my understanding is that we know for sure that Specilized are making a longer travel bike with the SL motor, there have been sightings of what appears to be an Enduro SL being tested out in the wild, and we have the patent documents.

I would say separate to that, that the FF Levo is probably due an update before end of this year, and the Kenevo shortly after that. I also think that having a decent air shock on the Kenevo is not necessarily a down grade, I tried one with a super deluxe fitted and whilst I like coils with the air shock the bike felt a lot livelier and reactive to ride. It sucks that the design means the coil has issues, but an air shock on a Kenevo might work better for some people - if you look at Steve Jones Kenevo on EMBN, with the 38's up front and an X2 out back, I think thats a cracking build.

Yeah I think this has been done to death in many threads, my point was that prototypes of the some sort of Enduro/Kenevo/Levo Evo SL or whatever it turns out to be called have been seen in the wild, so we know its coming, just not when.

IMO they should just sell a Kenevo with Zebs and a super deluxe as the base model.

I think there is definitely a place in the market for a bike somewhere between the Kenevo and Levo with a more Enduro set up. As there are so many people undecided between the two models when choosing a bike.

Surely this will bridge the gap?

Plus the marketing boys a specialised can go to work and then convince all the Levo / kenevo guys out there this is the bike for them, thus selling up and switching bikes and therefore increasing sales!!

I for one will probable be one of the sheep that follows :LOL:

Me too. But: I will wait for the 2022 model. The 2022 model then for sure will have all the specs that make sense.
Remember the first Levo SL edition? Nearly all reviewers asked: why did you (Specialized) not spec the bike with a 36 fork?
Specialized didn´t reply, but the answer was clear: to make the SL as light as possible.
Now, as the first hype has gone, all SLs have 36 forks and if I´m not wrong a shock with more potential.
I´m a little bit afraid that Specialized will go the same way with that new bike.
But on the other hand: it´s an Enduro. There´s not that much room to make it unnecessarily light by using some "wrong" parts...

Indeed - responses made by Specialized always for the second versions with part upgrade in the Turbo lines (not sure about the BioBikes).
Many of the active (forum) users anyhow upgrades their Bikes (making lighter and/or more durable or more robust or more for DH/Enduro) therefore, focus of Specialized IMO hopefully is Frame/Geo, Engine, Batterie and its integration all of.
Competition became tough - even after bought 3 Levo's for me and wife I'm exploring the market for interesting alternatives such as Forestal Sysion, Rotwild Rx/Re and Orbea's Rise; Nox Helium, YT Decoy, etc etc..
That's the right fuel for innvation to Specialized - they were adopters back 2016 in the eMTB market but, they've done a massive good job as such. Therefore, to be competitive, they need to improve compare to competition and to reliability... quite tough - I'm exited what they're going to launch 2022/2023

I mean, I understand the concept of designing a light emtb which utilizes sufficient (sufficient being questionable) power. But were not talking about a trail or Enduro bike. The Kenevo was (in my opinion) a downhill/Freeride long travel shuttle bike. A simple concept which works in reality and is practical with the brose motor.
If Specialized were to use the SL motor on a Kenevo platform (revised or not), wouldn't the weight of the bike in its entirety defeat the purpose? Remember, Kenevo's dont come in Carbon.

The weight of the Kenevo- even i'ts by purpose for DH/Enduro was from many riders in question and I've recognized huge amount which change to single crown fork (not only because of the weight).

Imagine, new Kenevo with design of the actual Enduro design would be my preference
- and on my wish list would be a silent engine which does have less than 2kg, provides until 50-90 NM (can be adjusted), can be pedal like a bicycle and frame is carbon that the weight would be low as possible.(but also in aluminium option available)
- and; - batterie would be easier replaceable (! as today) and there are various capacity options available such as 350, 550, 750 (depending on my needs for my ride/s)
-> Imagine this... and the batterie option mention about would contain the Levo too ;-)

I don't want to see a carbon kenevo, think of the cost, already too expensive and bike prices heading north enough as it is.

I think there will be an Enduro SL type bike, full carbon, and very expensive, but I dont think this will be a replacement for the Kenevo. Given the pricing of the regular Enduro, I cant see a decent spec Enduro SL coming in under 7k

If anything it would be good for them to put out a bike thats a sort of emtb take on the Status, value orientated but with decent tough components.

I don't understand why Kenevo is consider a heavy bike. It weighs about the same as Trek Rail, Commencal Meta etc. Some seem to think 180mm travel equals heavy.

The Kenevo was a heavy bike when launched (both the original and the updated) compared to some other similar bikes, but now with most rival bikes using the Bosch with 625wh and the EP8 with 625wh which has pushed bike weight up, its about the same as other big hitting emtbs - I think its actually lighter than the Focus Sam2 for example which is a very similar bike in terms of design/intent.

I sold my Sworks Enduro in preparation for another ebike
Need to acquire a new ebike before i decide to sell my SL and Kenevo
Hopefully March is when i sell my SL

ive heard 2 rumours so far, a new ff levo based on the new stump jumper evo and the enduro SL but with a slightly more power full motor. Both will start at expert level so will be dam expensive ! Be nice to know what’s coming out, I’ve endured my SL to the max and it handles everything amazing, I just like shining new things and fall for marketing ??

S-works or frame only option will do

With the recent specialized retail increases this new model is going to be one expensive bike
Frame only options for the Levo and Levo SL went up $2000 USD wow!
Also with the port issues, we might not see a new model announced in March

A couple of dealers told me first hand that there’s new bikes in March. No details, not even rumours about motors - as usual then. For me, the key is whether or not there’s a Specialized built full fat equivalent of the SL motor to replace the Brose.... I’m going to guess that they’ll still use the Brose.... sadly..... But at least this suggests you’ll likely be right about a Kenevo in March.

I heard through the rumor mill that it is going to be an SL type bike based on the enduro linkage but they have a new motor. Sounds cool but for a long travel bike I want all of the power! :oops:

As we already have a 2021 Kenevo (now with air shocks) it´s hard to believe that we will get a second full power 2021 Kenevo, right? So it might be that this new bike will have another name or... Kenevo SL?
