I'm also expecting a new Bullit in 2024 and if I would have to guess - as mentioned - one of the updates will be a change to Darfon battery. It's a shame that Shimano hasn't introduced a larger battery with the same form factor as the E8036 630Wh.

However, from geo perspective I feel the current model is pretty dialled and not sure what could be changed there. Maybe they could slightly steapen the STA, but I feel it's steep enough as-is.

I think the biggest hole in SC ebike lineup is a missing light eMTB.

Darfon released a 835wh / 4.3kg battery that is the same size as the 720wh / 4.2kg, so my guess is that SC will update the Bullit & Heckler to 835wh for 2024.

Most likely SC was waiting on final confirmation of the 835wh battery dimensions prior to updating molds and the Heckler is already compatible with that new battery anyway.

A Bullit specced with the new EP801 and that new 835wh will be one hell of a bike.
The Darfon 835wh battery is a different size and has different connectors to the 720wh battery so is not compatible with the current Heckler sadly.

Looks like I went to quick on this one as I assumed that SC were using the Darfon 720Wh that was released in 2022.

New gen Darfon 835/720 are the same size.

Anyway, I still think that SC must do something to allign their battery strategy to have just 1 size and maybe 2 or 3 capacity options. It'll be harder to charge big money for a Bullit that is still running on 630Wh next year.

I too think SC needs a light weight e-bike category entry… maybe call it Tazman (lol, gotta be old to remember that model).
If there’s a new Bullit I’d expect SC to update geo with size specific rear triangle like most of their updated offerings, including Heckler. Maybe add flip-chip as well, throw in larger capacity battery for marketing… after that I’m not sure they need changes.

Lightweight e-bike called the the Tazmon sound good 😉
Not sure a new Bullit will happen for a few more years. I’d like a full 29er option if they do…

Thought to ask wether anyone has bolted on a cascade components Bullit linkage? And if so whats your thoughts opinion to extra travel and any other geo characteristics.
Cheers!

Hi, just ordered a 2023 sc bullit and I see that there are sales on Shimano battery's. Can someone please tell me what exact 630watt battery model the bullit takes?

I got another question, I bought lower spec R model that comes with the SRAM DB8 brakes. I'd like to swap them out to some Shimano saints I have. Has anyone done a rear brake swap on this bike, and can share how hard it is? Do you have to drop the motor to get hose through it? Thanks!

If you look down by the shock you can see where the brake hose comes out of the main frame and goes into the rear triangle well above the motor. You will need to remove the battery because the hose is zipped tied inside just above the battery...

What’s the max insertion depth for a dropper on a 2024 bullit size large I need my dropper lower for descending
Thats gonna depend on the brand/size dropper you have.
As long as it actuates you're still ok, on a cable model you may find its a two-person or two-hand install (pull, feed the cable up through frame/headtube port while inserting dropper so you don’t kink it). You'll want to judge by how your pedaling position is while seated, after that the drop is determined by version you purchased… example:
I run a 210mm drop OneUp Components V3 dropper on my XL frame Santa Cruz Bullit, I’m 6’2”(36” inseam) and end up with about 3” of post sticking above seatube.

I'm 6' even on a LG bullet and the most I can run is a 180mm one up dropper. Not sure what the actual insert depth is but it's not great. But this is an issue with most bike it seems for me.

My son is 6’, rides LG Nomad with 210mm OneUp V3 dropper, I’m 6’2” XL Bullit with OneUp V3 210mm drop, leg length is main factor in seat height setting, which will influence dropper decision as well, might check their website to see difference and n post’s length.

Got my Bullit finished today. Picked it up from LSB on thursday after toooooo long wait because of harbour strikes here in Finland. First bike I build from the box, nice way to spend weekend 😀. Totally stock S-model, only mods are brakes because I don`t like Codes and they don`t like me. And some dyedbro protection. I think otherwise the spec is perfect for me. Wasn`t sure about the colour but after watching it whole weekend I like it. I sold my Levo already few weeks ago and can`t wait to ride this but weather is really shit now, maybe for whole week, so we`ll see when that happens.
