So you're saying the mid-level alloy bike is coming with a top level fork next year?

That's a big jump from Revs.

If the Comp Carbon Is really gone for 2020, maybe it’s another element of raising the level of the Alu Comp. If I’m converting the 6199 Euros mentioned for the 2020 Alu Comp, that’s almost $900 more than the current Alu Comp in the US. They need more than just the 700 watt battery in the Alu Comp to support that jump I think. Maybe a rear shock upgrade too :)

My LBS owner here in the US says he may be able to review the 2020 specs and prices with me tomorrow. I’ll let everyone know if I get any details. FYI, my LBS guy did already say “I know there will be a Base, Comp, Expert, and S Works”, supporting the feedback here that the Comp Carbon is gone.

My friend, i have been to Specialized on monday and we ordered a lot of 2020 Specialized Comps for the shop. Trust me, they will cost 6199.

Trust Jemen! It's 6199€. But for 900€ more comparing to the current model, it will be a battery upgrade, but i'm not sure fork or shock will be upgraded too.

Eat this!

There are only 4 significant changes on the Alu Comp for 2020. Bigger Battery, new rear tire Specialized Eliminator 29 x 2.3 for more space between tire and bike, Fork & rear shock.

Alu Comp Levo 2019:
Fork: Rock Shox Revelation Charger RC 29 150mm
Rear Shock: Rock Shox Deluxe RT

Alu Comp Levo 2020:
Fork: Rock Shox Lyrik Select Charger RC 29 150mm
Rear Shock: Rock Shox Deluxe Select

Thanks for this!

"Select" series is the entry-level model I believe... Not sure it's an upgrade. However, I didn't check the internals components to see if it's a cheap for or a really good one.

Here in Austria it´s 500 euros more than last year, but i honestly think it´s worth it.
I rode 8000km with my 2019 Alu Comp now (500Wh), everything is fine, it´s still working so well, but i´m really looking forward to the new one with the bigger battery, the smaller tire, different suspension components etc.
The Aluminium frame feels so much better for me than the Carbon. More "rideable" i think. I had the Carbon Expert too, it feels as tough as a 35mm handlebar...
I also love to protect the frame with allmountainstyle.com frameguards, assemble some kcnc parts, deity handlebar, nukeproof stem, crank brother pedals etc...
I´m really looking forward to it, i think i will choose the Matte black one.

It’s a shame they didn’t increase the travel at the same time as changing the fork.

Does the Lyrik Select have the Charger 1 damper? It looks to have the same damper adjustment as the RCT but they call it Charger RC.

To my knowledge the new RS Line with comes in 3 versions, select, select+ and ultimate. The corresponding dampers will be the original Charger RCT3, Charger 2 RCT3 and Charger 2 RC2.

So it will basically have the 2018 top of the line damper and by far inferior to the new top op the line. I have just upgraded to the new RC 2 and there is a world of difference to the positive side, so much more responsive and riding a bit higher in the travel.

So even with the Lyrik fitted it’ll still need money spending on the suspension. That’s a shame.

What a missed opportunity red looks sick specialised should have released a version exactly like that. If I'm ever in the position where I have 2 ebikes the kenevo may get a a min DH makeover ?

Agree, on a typical trail bike as the Levo is supposed to be it would actually be a better option if they had fitted the 2020 Pike Ultimate. That comes with same internal components as the Lyrik Ultimate but a little less sturdy.

I think there will be a LEVO EVO some time with more travel.

That would be cool. I bought the 2019 stumpjumper Evo and it’s a game changer in geometry. Never ridden a bike so stable, and I have a 2018 demo8!

Great news. I'm looking forward to buy a cheap Lyrik Select from someone upgrading :) I'm still running Motion Control Yaris on both my Levo and bike park ride. Yari is a great fork for the price.

All you'll get is an out of date damper cartridge and a 150mm air shaft.

Yes, it is, but if I've got to buy a damper cartridge and an airshaft anyway I'd rather it was for a Rev or Yari so the initial bike purchase was cheaper.

I guess Lyrik Select has replaced Yari in Rockshox line up, so there would be really no price difference. Why not just ride the Select and see how it performs?

@jemen which one would you recommend; ‘19 comp carbon or ‘20 alu comp if you could get them both for roughly the same price with 700 battery? There isn’t much difference between 2019/2020 frame&motor, is it? Are those little “frame” upgrades and tweaks worth waiting for 2020 model?
And specs are more or less the same. So at the end there is only choice between alu and cabon frame? I’m 195cm with 110kg, which would be your recommendation; alu or carbon?

Just spoke with the dealer and said they are doing 30% of retail price to get rid of the stock before Summer Holiday. FYI He said they will receive 2020 models in September.
Bugger just paid £7,245 for my expert, did get £5 discount though ;). My local dealer said 3 month wait at least for the new bikes to hit the dealers and they had no stock on Levo Expert in large in UK now anyway. Alway happy to upgrade components on a bike the main thing I am buying is the frame, motor and battery.

I would wait because of the 700W battery and i'm sure you can sell it much easier when the Levo "Generation 3" is coming out in 2022.

Mmmm, i’m quite convinced that in the second hand market the carbon ‘19 will fetch you a better price than a 2020 alu. (As the OP states, they both come with a 700Wh)
