Ended up going Cane Creek.

After consulting with them, here's what I decided on:

DBcoil CS 210 x 52.5
VALT 2.25in x 650 Coil
Hardware - 20mm x 6mm for Top
Reuse Flip Chip for Bottom (according to Specialized)

Waiting for it to arrive and will post up when completed. Sorry for somewhat hijacking, but hopefully the thread was useful to gain more info on what OP was looking for.
How did it go? I want that shck

Was it on a 2019 levo? Did you buy any extra bushings/spacers or just like for like swap?

Straight swap, had to buy some bushing kit for the top (6mm Bolt 20mm Eyelet Bushing Kit HWDA)...and used existing bottom eylet flipchip thing.

Wow, I havent been on forums in a while and saw that picture. I know they dont recommend the IL version...interesting to see that broken on a CS.

Any other broke on this forum or just that person so far? I have no reason to believe that would happen to me as Im not taking big drops. If it does, hopefully the spill doesnt hurt me! The shock feels too nice compared to air.

Ill find a pic for you bud.

Shit! That's not good.

@Biaferon Id definitely not put that on your bike... Why take the risk?
Ive gone from a kenevo to a levo with no regrets due to weight and power. Plus its more suited to my style. The kenevo van coil felt great. I have a torn L5s1 disc. I shouldn't be riding but I refuse to do nothing. This is the only lightweight shock of its kind.

Was this shock on your actual bike or someone else’s bike?

Cane Creek released a thicker shock shaft for the CC Double Barrel a few years ago. The shaft went from 8mm to 9.5mm as they had had a few failures.

It is obviously hard to see if the failed shock you have pictured has the 8mm or the 9.5mm shaft.

Cane Creek say a big NO to fitting Cane Creeks ‘Inline’ coil shock on a Levo or Stumpy as it has an 8mm shaft. However, I have not seen anything from them saying NO to the Cane Creek ‘Double Barrel’ coil shock. That does not mean to say they have not released something in the past few months.

Ive just looked into this and nothing comes with that 9.5mm shaft. Only £100 upgrades from specialist sites. My levo 2019 is 22.5kg which is quite decent compared to other ebikes. Also they dont do it in the db il. Thanks though, I believe they probably will in the future with Ebikes on the rise and with the failed shafts.

I got the pic from one of the other threads here and somehow got the impression that the warning covered both versions of the DB. Anyway I would contact CC directly and get it verified - Fact is that the pic clearly indicate that it can break for sure.

When I ordered min late November, I wanted the IL. Spoke to CC directly and they advised on getting the CS. Just took some calipers to mine - 9.5 shaft. They were aware it was going on the 2019 Levo. Not once did they warn against it.

I see you have pretty much done what ive done from your bike pics. Looks class top model now for half the price ?

Is it the DB iL you have (the one without the piggyback)

Hello,
to add to the previous question did anyone of you go the upgrade path to a RS Super Deluxe?
If yes, could you please share which compression and rebound tune you went for?
Cannot find any information on the web or in the forums what the specific Rx tune of Speci would translate into.
Thanks
René

I’m curious too about using a 55 vs 52.5. And for the guy at 92kg running 230psi , shit I’m 75kg and run 215psi. It works good for me, less front end push. Already though I want to upgrade both ends, hence my opening sentence. ☮️

The X2 will fit the aluminium frames, not sure about the carbon ones and only ever seen it fitted to a large frame. 55mm would fit, it's the barrel bit that goes close to touching
