Description Came with new bike July 2020. Charged weekly (40-45 estimated) charges. 1500 miles miles on clock...
Just picked up a new 625w battery, so the 500w is now for sale.
Nearly 1600 mile on the clock. Kept indoors after every ride.
Bought Stilus mid July 2020 (if you look back at the early posts for the Stilus, you will see I am genuine and have not disc cut the thing out or someone's pride and joy)...
The one thing no-one has said is that they followed the Avid recommended set up of advancing the pistons with the pads out (someone earlier did alude to it) using a 1mm spacer card to stop the pistons closing tight.
The R's WERE shite until that process. Now, coupled with a good bleed and...
Get a crud XL. Solves the problem outright. Bike every week and through winter, 1700 mile and latch still sweet. BTW, living in the Welsh Valleys, you cannot go anywhere without going across an old coal tip or river/muddy Lane. You won't regret the 23 quid.
Interested in a 625 batt soon, message me with what you can do.
Always wondered why there isn't an exchange/swap over system run by Bosch, seems sensible way to recycle and allow an upgrade without the massive cost.
BTW, mines an XL and is spot on, even though I shoudve been an L. Let me know.
Yes, massive fan since buying last year. Been waiting for one for the missus for 6 months and pulled the trigger on another model last week at a lbs, and now there's a few stilus hanging around on the site 🙄.
Trouble is the competition is closer since the price hike. Do a personal wish/...
Cardiff says nothing on screens till after Christmas due to stock of all other bikes and products being focused on as they actially know/have vision and delivery dates from those suppliers.
Thing is, when they do appear, they they probably sit forever, somewhere on the M25 while being held up...
I would check out tyre reviews as someone said but also check tyre pressures on different surfaces, and riding techniques/tips on YouTube, as sometimes tyres alone cannot make up for poor technique and set up. We've all been there and some of us are still there now and again.
Weight...
Did mine about a year ago and still fine. Used Stans for the fill and taped the rims with gorilla tape. Used decent valves.
Just use lots of washing up liquid/water to lube the tyre/rim before pumping.
I only used a track pump and they seated and stayed up even without sealant when I initially...
This is on another Stilus thread but thought it worth a re-run.
I did this to go with my XL front crud catcher. All I did was modify a £3 mudguard from Halfords and it has served me well. I uswd two muckynutz guards for the rear as I like to keep the bike looking still like an mtb without those...
Store guy said August/Sept. "new arrival" graphic on site obviously has another meaning in Decathlon speak.
Question;
Is Boris Johnson their PR advertising guru? Cos It's all a bit like "You can go abroad but you cant/you can buy the Stilis but you can't". ?
Me too. They are on the site but shops do not know anymore than possibly August/Sept online.
Prce at 3.5k is also a bit of a shock tbh. Cube 140 will probably be the choice for many if the deal is right-Lbs, parts availability etc.
Is this hike purely a Brexit thing re import charges as 625...
Did the same 1000 mile age and still on. I also used a blob of paint/enamel to mark the nut and ring so that I can check any loosening at a glance (all car engines have this done for warranty purposes).
Simple and quick.
