Anyone gone from EMTB back to normal MTB & regretted it??

I ride both depending upon how I feel. After winter the ebike will get me ready for the analogue bike again.

Going from ebike to a normal bike

Off topic but picking up on that, I never drive now either. Apart from weekend family trips everything is by bike now. When we finally build the local trails I’ll drive even less. I’m now using the ebike purely for fun blasts and the lung bike for training or jumps. The ebike needs better...

Going from ebike to a normal bike

First eMTB ride in ages tonight. Hell yes! What fun. I just needed a break. Was like a baby MotoX bike. Drifting all over was great.

The rain has arrived - practical advice for the wet and cold.

Just decided to embrace it. Went out in my new waterproof jacket with the hood up under the helmet. Shower resistant trousers and everything else normal. Got soaked. Was epic. Loved it. I think it’s mental attitude more than anything. When I got cold i pedalled harder. When I got wet I laughed...

    When birds attack

Magpie herpes! I refuse to Google to check validity because it’s more fun to believe this is true. Does everything in Australia have herpes? Bears and now birds! What next?! Does the Magpie have for fornicate in your ear for you to catch it? In which case, full face lid is essential.

Is this common? I’ve never heard of it. Do they prefer some colours to others.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

I bought my bike a really good deep clean and booked it in for a proper service. Thing has been punished. It’ll go away for the wet months.

Going from ebike to a normal bike

Did another small 14 mile blast on the lung bike. Hit a really fun downhill section. Loved it, the ride back up not so much.

Going from ebike to a normal bike

I’ve gone eMTB to normal bike. EMTB got me out riding and got my fitness up to the point where I’m now riding a normal bike and I love it. Lighter, faster (apart from the ride up), less maintenance, no range anxiety, no worry about motor failures and water, and it goes on the roof of my car.

The rain has arrived - practical advice for the wet and cold.

21 years of riding motorbikes 365 taught me good gear makes bad weather fun. But it also cost me many thousands over the time to learn what worked and what didn’t in the real world. Away from the parallel world reviews take place in. What do you experienced riders recommend? Yesterday I did 22...

A summary of why mtbs are (still) so much nicer to ride than Emtbs

Valid point. Will service it and treat it to new bits. The brakes feel shit now I have a carbon normal bike with better stuff.

Yeah. I prefer my normal bike. It’s way more fun. What to do with the ebike?

My recent attempt is still a disaster. Pre taped rims still leaking after three days. They’ve got enough Stans in to take a bath.

A summary of why mtbs are (still) so much nicer to ride than Emtbs

My normal bike has arrived. And although my lungs hurt I have to say it’s... dunno. Planted in a graceful way. Less like a truck and more like a sports car. You treat it a bit more, not gently but maybe more considered. I’m not experienced enough to describe it, but it’s huge fun and very...

    Can we trust magazine reviews?

No. I used to review cameras. The magazines I wrote for made it clear that for every con you had to have two pros. It was contractual. Ive tested shit camera’s and the reviews came out glowing. In group tests the camera tied to the biggest ad budget would win. Most products are good now, and...
