Update on my 2020 Santa Cruz Heckler.
It took a while, but my LBS finally got around to submitting the warranty claim to Shimano (Santa Cruz only does it for the first year).
With only a couple of weeks left on the 2-year warranty.
Shimano agreed to replace the motor.
While I was at it, I...
Yes. That drop to 79% mirrors mine very closely.
And why do we keep seeing this "79%" figure popping up so often?
I talked to my LBS. I told them to submit the claim to Santa Cruz for the motor and battery, (and possibly the charger).
I showed at the bike shop today.
The battery was 100% charged using their charger (my charger might have done as well).
I took it out for a test ride to see if I could get it to throw the e010 code.
At 2.75 miles, the assist shut off and I saw the e010 code on my display.
So, I have:
A...
I came back to the shop today.
The battery was fully charged using their charger (no surprise, my charger might have done the same).
I took it out for a ride around their shop to see if I could get it to throw another e010 error code.
Their hope was that since they had updated the software...
14/.60 = 25 mile range.
Your vertical is about half again more than my typical rides.
So, Yours is similar to mine, but I used my “Eco-Minus-Minus” 15NM reduced power setting.
Santa Cruz Heckler.
New February 2020
Bike is now in the shop getting “diagnosed” and on the charger. So I don’t have the model numbers handy.
504 WH battery
Probably the slow charger
Info via STunlocler (which I have used since March of 2020):

Janc, the eBike tech said he doesn't use bluetooth, always his laptop. He seemed shocked that I would bluetooth into the unit. I don't have the connector or a laptop. Just my trusty 2015 iMac and iPhone.
Anyway, earlier this morning, I took the bike back to the LBS (one-hour round trip). The...
Janc asked what was cleaned and how:
The LBS cleaned the battery and all connections he could hose down with electrical cleaner that he could get to without wrenching into the motor. I have read that the cleaning rarely fixes the problem.
I test rode today. The firmware was updated by the...
I took it to the dealer who hooked it up to a lap top.
Many, many error codes in queue.
He said the connectors were dirty so he cleaned them.
Two-mile test ride. No error.
I am not hopeful, but will give it a good test ride tomorrow. 15-miles and a good amount of vertical.
I have a 2020 Santa Cruz Heckler here in dry Arizona.
I rarely wash it, and am careful when I do so.
StunLocker app in use with significantly reduced power (15NM, 25NM, 35NM) and smaller wheel size inputted to allow 22mph or so.
After about 2000 trouble-free miles, I plugged it into charge, as...
If you like the Santa Cruz Bronson, chances are you’ll like the SC “eBronson” Heckler.
If you don’t like the Bronson, look elsewhere.
I had heard about the rumored SC eBike many months ago. But my experiences with earlier versions of SC were middle of the road. I didn’t like the rear...
Pickin's are slim.
I bought the Heckler because I have recently become a Bronson fan (new linkage version, I didn't like the old-style) and I prefer 27.5 wheels on an eBike.
On an analog I prefer 29. And I have owned more Specialized bikes than any other (my main bike is a Stumpy World Cup...
You've got it backward.
I decided two weeks ago I didn't care about swapping motors -- and not for reasons you've just found out today.
Not because of any compatibility or distributor issues, but because the EP8 didn't offer me anything I cared about.
Didn't your dealer tell you anything about...
