Hi all-
Hoping some of you are in the Colorado Springs area. I'm struggling to find places to ride in The Springs. Was hoping to ride Stratton Open Space (Captain Jacks, Captain Morgans, Chutes, etc...), but trailforks shows it is not e-bike allowed. I noticed the city of Colorado Springs had...
I have two 2020 Levo Comps, and one 2021 Levo Comp. After 5 motor replacements between the two 2020s, I sold one of them for an Orbea Wild FS. While I still love my other two Levos, I have no regrets moving to another brand. My Levos have been wonderful bikes...I still love them. I'm just...
Just moved to a Wild FS M10 (have 3 Levos)...and boy am I happy! Absolutely love this bike so far. My only complaint are the brake levers. The reach is too far, and I can't figure out if they're adjustable.
On our Levos, we have adjustment knobs to bring in/out the levers. Is it possible to...
Did you ever switch to the Kiox? I have an M20 coming with a Purion, and wanted to switch to Kiox as well. Just curious what you had to do to make it work.
I'm optimistic that they've figured things out in the latest motors, from the sprag clutch to belt to firmware. One thing that keeps me with Specialized, is their outstanding warranty. They've done phenomenal job taking care of me through all of this.
We have 3 Levos. One has lost 2 motors (first around 500mi, second around 200mi). One has lost 1 motor (around 600mi). One hasn't lost a motor yet. We're really hoping to have better luck with latest motor, which supposedly has the latest fixes. Our last motor took 1 week to get replaced...
Thanks - I know they're the same bikes. I just thought this date would have been an actual date the motor (or battery or TCU) were made. Makes it seem like my electronics were made on Feb 2019 (maybe they were?)
I'm actually in the United States (California). On my first failure, the dealer had it replaced right away...because they had backup motors in stock. These past two, however, they just ran out of motors. They keep receiving them, but they've had far too many failures in the shop to keep them...
Appreciate the great information. I'll admit, I've always assumed it was the belt. That's the only part that is discussed in these forums as being the point of failure. Having this new information on the sprag clutch makes a lot of sense. Hopefully it all gets sorted out. It's frustrating...
The Decoy was in contention before I bought these Levos. I've recently started looking at them again. I'm actually local to YT (about 20mi away), and they occasionally have demo days. I plan to demo one some time this year.
Thanks for the good info. However, this raises even more concerns for me now. I was told all of our bikes that have had belt failures, will all have new kevlar(?) reinforced belts. I was hopeful that this would resolve my issues. If you're now saying most issues are clutch bearing failures...
I actually just posted a poll to see how many people have had belt failures. Out of our 4 Levos, 3 have had belt failures. All within 500mi. I've been told that they have a new belt which should resolve these issues (but I'm not sure if I'm being fed a line of BS). If I continue to have...
Just dropped off my bike at the LBS. He had 3 other bikes in there with belt failures. So, I know it's not uncommon (considering we've had 75% failure rate on ours alone). They told me that Specialized is using a new belt, which should resolve these belt issues. I hope he's right. I just...
Unfortunately, not that I'm aware of. I'm not sure if that would be up to the LBS or Specialized, but I've never pressed the issue. My buddy bought a Levo in March and already had a belt failure as well. He's been waiting for over 3 weeks to get his motor replaced, so he's been unable to ride...
Yes, it does get replaced under warranty. Specialized has been VERY good about warranty work, which is why it'd be hard for me to leave this bike. It's just tough when it takes 3-4 weeks to get a new motor, since that bike is down and someone in my family is without a ride.
We've bought 4 2020 Turbo Levo Comps. 3 of the 4 Levos have experienced belt failures (or sprag clutch), all under 500mi. We absolutely love our Levos, but if we continue having belt failures, I may start looking at other bikes. I'm curious how common and how problematic this issue is.
