Battery size should be a choice when you buy an ebike. I need a big battery because my rides consist of 5000-7000 ft vert and 20-40 miles. I leave my Levo with a 700wh battery, in eco, set at 30% almost all the time. I finish my rides with close to empty. A 250wh-350wh extender would be awesome.
I was gonna wait for the gen4 Levo, but found a Carbon Comp on sale for $4499 down from $9000!
I guess Im on an old/new Gen 3 Levo for one more season.
I agree about the new Rail+ being a little vanilla. Although the new lighter/quieter gen 5 Bosch and lighter 800wh battery is pretty sweet. Plus it can take a battery extender which makes it pretty tempting. If I didnt get a crazy deal on a new Levo last month Id be on a Rail+. Ive had 6...
All I want is no headset cable routing, under 50lbs, 90-100nm power, and a 800-1000wh battery.
And last but not least... decent prices!
I just want a fat ebike for LONG back country rides that is reliable.
Well, IMO Trek dropped the ball, again. I really wanted the new Rail + with the Gen 5/800wh battery. I dont understand how the bike can be so darn heavy. Im seeing 55-56 lbs depending on the build. How can this be when the new motor and battery are about 2 lbs lighter? Im not a weight...
Since Specialized has the transferable warranty, I have found them way easier to resell and at a better price. I get a new Levo every 1-2 years and take the $0-$3000 loss. Ive had 6. Some I have made money on because I got them on sale and others I have lost my a$$. I like new bikes and ride...
The bearings were getting rough in my Brose motor in my Levo. I took it in on a Thursday and had my bike back with a new motor the next Friday. This is why I always buy Specialized. Summer and the riding season is too short to be waiting all summer for a motor.
That video is like they are trying to justify that they screwed up and are trying to convince customers to buy the LT. If they were gonna make it the best and lightest race bike it would have the lighter 800wh battery and the Race motor.
I just wish it had the 800wh battery and the gen5 Bosch...
I don't understand why its not lighter than previous gen. The motor and battery alone are almost 2 lbs lighter. I was told by Trek that the Rail+ will be out mid January in the US.
