Just got a Hope R4+ thru the post. Looking forward to trying it out once my man flu has buggered off. Mounted it on the bike and tried it in the street and it looks the business. £163 but the quality is fantastic.

Answered If your'e in the UK would you ride on a public footpath in the countryside?

Yes, regularly do. Being respectful, giving way to others and not hooning it if there is a chance of upseting someone seems to work ok for me.

What will this new 800 mile Great North trail be like to ride?

To much hassle using bees. Use swallows instead. As everyone knows, a swallow can carry a coconut, so....if roughly 4 coconuts = the weight of 1 battery, tether a swallow to each corner and job done. Don't ride with someone using bees tho cos the swallows will eat them.

    Eye protection

Normally Oakley EV zeros for me. Use them with both open and full face. Will use a pair of clear cheap Bolle safety glasses if it's overcast or dark.

Meta power 29... Tyres and inserts

Swapped the stock 2.5 HR2 DD that came on the front of my Meta 29 as it scared the shit out of me. Swapped it for a DHF 2.5 DD and confidence restored. Will use the HR2 on the rear in the winter instead of the Aggressor but will eventually run DHF's or DHR's front and rear. Don't feel the need...

If your bike uses the DUE10 speed sensor, you can get a replacement speed sensor for about £22 which comes with the above magnet and spacers included. I ripped my speed sensor off by picking up a stick in the back wheel the other week. LBS fitted a new one but ive just gone and bought another...

Answered What strength of IPA do you use on brake pads / rotors?

I use either. Got a big pile of neat IPA as I make my own deicer for the winter.

Time to try the Fox dhx2 coil

My bike came with a DHX2. Its my first ever coil shock and im blown away by it. Small bump compliance is awesome. Worth the slight weight penalty over an air shock for such a plush ride. About 85kg kitted and running the 450lb spring.

    Wireless earphones

I use these Sony ones whilst riding... Sony WS410 Walkman® WS Series It's an MP3 player rather than just headphones altho I'm sure they do a Bluetooth version. They allow you to hear what's going on around you and can even amplify it if needed which works brilliant especially if someone...

Cheers Zimmer that's just what I needed to know mate, thanks for the concise response. Will get a spare ordered asap. ? Yep, was holding down the button. Was in the easiest gear but it would barely propel the thing on the flat let alone up any sort of gradient. From reading up on it people...
