I had that same fork on my bike before swapping it out. I would recommend dropping it to 30% sag and see how it feels. I struggled to get that fork compliant until I ran more sag than what I am used to running. I was able to get it to a reasonable spot.
I would also play around with your...
I tried ordering directly from Orbea and they wanted to route it through my local retailer. I didn’t end up moving forward so I’m not sure how it’s done.
Also I have a 210mm one up post on a size large that is almost slammed. I started to feel some resistance as I was installing it at the...
That’s fair. That Rockshox 35 TK silver really does not belong on this bike. I rode it a few times with the 35 while waiting on my new fork and it is rudimentary at best.
That build out that you have planned will absolutely rip!
My cosmic carbon looks like the video. Having said that my clear metallic fleck coat is smooth and done really well. Depending on the direction I am looking from, the carbon underneath can either be seen and cloudy or totally clear from the opposite direction. I actually like it though...
That’s a great price! Well worth the wait.
As far as the dropper my large came with a 170mm. I thought I had read that the xl came with 200mm but now I can’t find where I read that.
What size frame are you on and does your fork clear your frame with over rotation of the bars. That’s a really sharp looking bike with some excellent mods!!
I am really impressed with how much factory protection was installed on the frame when I got it. Significantly more protection than any other bike I have purchased. I’m running it as is, however I’m not overly concerned with scratches etc.
You may be able to get away with some top tube and...
You can get a kit from Orbea to run a standard stem and spacers. The cables still run through the headset area but they go outside of the headset spacers. When you do this you lose the knock block aspect of your stock headset.
If you are on an XL you should be fine. I’m on a large size...
This worked well. I’m having to tune the suspension very differently than I am used to with the extra weight of the e-bike. I’ve got it sorted now. Thanks for the advice!
Ok, one more report on these brakes. I got a long ride in today and they are really solid. I have the rotors centered much better. I was getting a tiny bit of contact on the rotor but it only occurs when everything is hot after extended stretches of descending at speed. I believe the rotor...
One up 210mm post. Weighs 10 grams less than the Orbea 170mm post, not that any of that truly maters on an e-bike, it was more for my own amusement. I honestly don’t really need the extra drop but my Orbea post died and I didn’t want to be down waiting while winter is approaching.
Couple more rides and I’m experiencing some pad drag. I’ve re-centered them twice but as soon as everything starts to heat up it shows back up. It seems like 200mm rotors may need to be thicker? I’m just guessing on this.
My test period with these brakes is quickly coming to an end. I have...
That’s a good thought! The back is running pretty close to open but I didn’t mess with the rebound on the fork after I let some pressure out. I’ll give that a try first.
That sounds good on the front tyre, I would be concerned with pinch flats, rim strikes going lower. Softening up the front fork helped me out a lot. I am still in the process of dialing my suspension in as well. It is running soft but I would like it to be a bit more "poppy". I am looking...
I pulled the trigger on regular DT 350's. A bit of research turned up that the star ratchets can be replaced with steel "e-bike" rated ratchets. I'll probably pick a set of the steel star ratchets up and either carry them with, or swap them out. I think initially I will just leave the regular...
Anyone else have issues with the Orbea house brand dropper. It has been working great and it died on my ride today. Going up and down very slowly. And now doesn’t want to do either without significant effort.
I tried loosening up the seat post clamp and that didn’t help any. It makes a...
I’m experiencing this but I have a set of one up carbon bars that I have had good success with historically. I’ve chalked it up to a significant amount more descending, along with higher speed on rough flats and climbs.
I let some air out of the front tire and softened up the fork and that...
