Thanks for the input guys.
I'm sticking with my 2019 VR - and over the past few weeks I've purchased a brand new spare battery, had the forks upgraded / fully serviced along with the shock, as well as replacing all the frame bearings.
Now is probably not the time to be splashing cash on new &...
It's the first time I've ever changed the frame bearings on a bike, so I can't comment on quality.... all I know is that after almost 3 years the originals were absolutely fooked. No wonder it felt like my rear wheel was flexing & the tyre was under inflated.
I've just finished changing the frame bearings... and I have two new bearings left over. Do kinetic sometimes send kits out with spares by mistake?
Edit: the barber posted the exact same question 😀
I just counted the bearings I removed & there's 14.
I wonder if the VRX with the fox shock has...
Just a query really - has anyone here upgraded to the 2021 model from a 2019 VR?
Did you regret it?
I'm attracted to the new and shiny thing... but it looks like the only things I'm gaining in the upgrade are a slightly more powerful motor, a bigger battery and 3kg of mass.

Description Hi,
Here's my 2019 Vitus E-Sommet VR.
Size small. 504wh battery & E8000 motor.
Owned by me from new. I'm 5'10 & this bike fitted me perfectly. As recommended by many...
update:
I ended up taking my Vitus to my local Shimano dealership. They removed the motor & sent it to Madison. I was billed £40 for this, which was reimbursed by CRC.
Madison had the motor for 3 weeks, and it came back with a 'firmware fix' - which, I assume, is a tweak to handle erroneous...
This is what I've done - and had to re-do today. Their firmware fix did nothing - my E010 errors are back.
I've told them it's a new motor or a refund.
Long story short, back in early April my motor died (W013, E010 errors). The torque sensor was dead.
It was confirmed at my local Shimano dealership & sent off to Madison. They had it for over a week before looking at it, and another 2 weeks to 'fix' the issue - not with a new motor, or torque...
It's a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone knew of UK stores with the 504wH battery in stock?
I've decided to purchase a second battery for bike park days :)
Ok, so after 3 weeks, I have my bike back & working.
I managed to agree with CRC that I'd drop it into my local Shimano dealer, who would carry out the diagnostic work & send to Madison (£39, being reimbursed buy CRC).
Madison had the motor for almost 10 days before even looking at it...
Update: I've been without my bike for over a fortnight now.... the motor is with Madison & they're taking forever to even look at it, despite my local shimano dealer confirming what the problem is. Just swap the motor for crying out loud!
I dropped my Vitus E-sommet off at my local Shimano dealership last night.
It had covered 1600kms from new, purchased June 2019, before this failure - the first and only issue I've had with the system (aside from battery degradation).
It started throwing E010 errors, and eventually persistent...
I haven't tried it - as tempting as it is, I rather like the idea of getting a new motor installed before the warranty expires.
I took the cover off on weds & checked all the connections - they're fine. But when I powered the battery back on, I was getting instant W013 errors (despite not...
This was shocking to read... I hope I have a better experience (same bike, same fault).
If I can cut out CRC & deal with shimano directly that would be awesome. I might try that today.
Another resurrection of an old thread:
Last week my Vitus E Sommet VR threw an E010 at me for the first time (21 months from new, 1500 ish KM covered).
Power cycling fixed it a few times, until it became persistent. It'd always happen around 4 minutes into a ride.
On the off chance, I thought...
Naah. Exposure Maxx D on the bars & Diablo on the lid. I'm pretty sure it's health + subzero temps on that ride, it's been pretty dependable since. I can't decide whether to go for the cheapest 504wh pack I can find & carry it, or go for the 630.
Morning :)
(2019 E-sommet VR, 1600kms)
Last week I joined a few fellow Ebikers & took part in a pretty epic night ride.
They were all on new-ish 600+ wH machines. The ambient temp was just below freezing.
We covered about 20 miles with a lot of climbing, and reached a decision point on the...
