I've noticed that a fair number of the bikes in the classifieds here, and on eBay don't seem to have been checked against what they now cost new. Some very optimistic pricing!
For your example, the H30 is £3k here new...
I'd ridden a mate's late 00's five and didn't like it much, hired an Alpine 160 in the Alps which was better but inevitably a tank. Last I rode was a 2017/18ish Four and that was a genuinely great bike to ride.
I think what I found off putting with their eBikes was the high price, the shimano...
On one hand I can see the argument saying that the warranty lasts x years and after that tough. On the other hand a battery costing nigh on a grand should be expected to have a longer lifespan. The comparison with an LG telly remote is just daft.
The other argument against a failed battery...

How to Prolong eMTB Battery Lifespan
eMTB batteries are expensive – some are about $1000, so it makes sense to want them to last for as many charge cycles as possible. The two things that you can do to prolong your battery...

Suggests Vala replaces Heckler. Presumably Heckler SL lives on as the remaining Heckler.
Signed, hoping that it's a kick up the arse for people to get out and use these facilities and make it worth NRW's time and funding keeping them going.
Hi there, I'm looking for a Gen 2 levo or SL in a size small or medium. I've got an old 150mm/boost/29er normal bike that I'd like to use as a parts donor.
The Gen2 levo would be preferred as that's what I've got but something similar could also be of interest. I'm located in Suffolk in the UK...
I reckon that there's a reasonable difference between accepting "less support" from the supplier of an online purchase versus "no more spares/support" if that's what seems to be in this case.
Either way, kinda glad I have a vanilla Levo Gen 2. 😉
Many moons ago I plugged my details into the canyon calculator and bought a medium hardtail based on their recommendations. When it arrived it really was too small and I ended up bending the stock seat post. By playing with the calc and adding a few mm here and there it put me on a large. 🫣
As...
Probably cheaper to buy a decent lighter-duty bike than CNC a swappable BB mount.

Fwiw I don't think I've ever fitted a cassette without greasing all the splines and never had an issue. I have however had problems with parts seized in place so I'll take potential greased problems over seized on ones! Perhaps the increased wear that ebikes puts on gears makes it a moot point...
I think cycle to work is another factor in the UK. Getting 25-50% off the rrp for a new bike with warranty paid with 0% finance is compelling versus rolling the dice with a used bike. I certainly view any potential 2nd hand bike purchase through that lens.
I used to work in a shop that had two bottles of ridiculously expensive wine out back in the store cupboards. They'd been stored badly and the corks were crumbling. On paper they were worth £££ in reality they'd taste like vinegar. They get checked off on the stocktaking audit each year and then...
