Review: Changzhou Fieldebikes Co., Ltd. (M510 Carbon Build)

I noticed that shipping was much longer than I was expecting. I assume it's because they're bundling orders to the US and that takes time. 🤷‍♂️ Painting, for whatever reason is much less at the factory, again it's likely because they're buying paint in bulk etc. btw I was told by the factory...

Review: Changzhou Fieldebikes Co., Ltd. (M510 Carbon Build)

Geometry was the main reason. Travel was within the minimum window. They offered a big battery, which I love. I’m running a slack setup at 63 ish degrees rn.

Review: Changzhou Fieldebikes Co., Ltd. (M510 Carbon Build)

Great question, from all the feedback on the V2 of the M510 seems to be the sweet spot between consumption, noise, support and output. This seems to be the motor that's getting the most attention right now so I assume it will get the lions share of the manufacturer support from Bafang as well.

Review: Changzhou Fieldebikes Co., Ltd. (M510 Carbon Build)

Yea the power on this M510 is so efficient. My buddy on his specialized Levo was getting like 20% less range than me, but the gap seemed to keep growing by the time we hit 7K ft, he was limp mode and I still had 35%.

No speed sensor related issues, or errors on the display. The whole thing dead. I recorded a video and sent it to Lynda. We’ll see what bafang says about it.

It seemed the more I demanded of the bike the more I noticed, what I would describe as a momentary disruption of power delivery.

Yea I've found this motor consumes watts very quickly for the power it puts out. As a comparison I recently built a Super enduro CF bike from another factory with an 840wh battery and I'm getting 7000ft of vert with 30% left. That's built on an m510 motor running it in sport the entire time.

The mullet should feel better in the steeps. Also make it feel a bit more slashy.

In the besst tool, I made my wheel size smaller. That way you never hit that 20 mph limit.

Mike is there an increased risk to the motor with different voltage batteries?

The ideal diodes make sure the back flow of power doesn’t take place into from the lower capacity battery. Assuming they’re both at 100%. Then you just converge them with a Y connector. So the gauge on the display. Initially comes down from 100% to around 70ish percent which is when both...

I had a short in mine from the water ingress in the yellow connector. Mine was specific to extender setup. But I could see it with any of the connectors. Have you been riding in the rain? Or getting the system wet? It can feel like fading even though it’s a short and it’s on off. But when it’s...

I’m about the same height as you and I have the XL. I run it with a mullet and I can throw that around all day.
