    Using two tubes .

My response, while obtuse, was based on fundamental quantum theory. At the shop I have seen, heard, and come up with my own crazy ideas over the past 30 years. I have never heard of two tubes before, so bravo to your creative thinking. Don't stop being imaginative, just remember MTBers are a...

    Other 2025 Rail Gen5 bikes

If I am racing bio then I am concerned about grams overall. On a full-power ebike not so much, but I am concerned about performance and counting grams on rotational and unsprung mass is critical. I have run 170mm forks on my rails for last four years and stroked the shock to 62.5mm. For a given...

    Using two tubes .

You can have two identical half-sized tubes inside the same tire, but they must spin in opposite directions so that they do not violate the Pauli exclusion principle. Otherwise (at the macroscopic scale) your wheel becomes unstable and undergoes drastic volume reduction, i.e. a flat tire. Jokes...

    Other 2025 Rail Gen5 bikes

Seems like they ditched the 1.8" lower headtube and knockblock for adjustable headset cups. I am trying to figure out why the 9.8XT has RockShox, and the 9.8GX has Fox suspension?

Rail (625Wh) Linkglide Xt on Rail 5 -21?

You are correct, so OP should be able to use stock wheel. I believe the Alex wheel is also a steel freehub which is better than the alloy HG freehub I use on the Rapid Drive hubs. I have had a cog saw all the way through the splines before.

Rail (625Wh) Linkglide Xt on Rail 5 -21?

Here in the states the Rail 5 gen 2 came with a Trek Alex MD35 Boost 29" MTB Wheel that used the HG freehub, and the Rail 5 gen 3 came with the microspline freehub. I don''t see a part number for just the HG freehub and the complete wheel is out of stock until December (part number W5251120 or...

Rail (625Wh) Linkglide Xt on Rail 5 -21?

Good to know, I have been waiting to hear if someone has run the regular shadow+ derailleur with LG shifter and cassette. I knew the actuation ratio was close enough to probably work.

Rail (625Wh) Lets talk Rear Mudguards

Let me save everyone some time and money. Trek 2023 Fuel EXe Carbon Main Pivot Mud Flap SKU# W5275234 MSRP $5.99 Using diagonal cutters you trim the nub flat (below flap) and tab going across from the top of the mount hole (above flap). Then attach to the seat tube on a Rail above the main...

Shorter Cranks - loss of torque remedied

The screenshot I shared was an old report for my Rail7 generated with Bosch diagnostic tool 8.1.6.0. The diagnostic 3 tool was updated about a month ago by Bosch and part of the upgrade is the ability to use it with the System 2 motor, battery and accessories. I have only connected a system 2...

Shorter Cranks - loss of torque remedied

Screenshot above is second page of diagnostic for a Bosch System 2 CX motor. The first character in the application ID code lets you know which container file is installed. The "Q35389" file is emtb, <165mm, 85Nm, regular tour mode, if it began with "N" it would be tour+. The screenshot you...

Rail (750Wh) Trek rail 9.8 2022 Crank arm removal

If you already have the puller for square taper, then buy the shimano TL FC-15. If you don't have a puller, then buy the Park Tool compact crank puller pictured above, it will work with spline cranks (what you have) and square taper.

Bosch walk mode uses how much battery?

The issue is independent of the flow app. I updated everything recently when Bosch updated the Diagnostic 3 program. That update, by the way, allows system 2 bikes to be analyzed with Diagnostic 3 and remote configuration changes. I also ran the component test on the speed sensor, no issue. I...

    First Shimano Brake Bleed

Not sure if mentioned previously, but a trick I learned at S-Tec about 10 years ago was to clean the pistons with isopropanol and a q-tip before resetting them in the caliper, and cutting down a bleed block so you could push one piston out (not completely) at a time to clean them. This help keep...

Rail (750Wh) Trek rail 9.8 2022 Crank arm removal

Some of those style crank pullers have two ends for different spindles. The small diameter end is for older square taper bottom brackets, and the large diameter end is for spline spindles. If your tool only has the small size you can use an insert such as the shimano TL FC-15, or you can...

Bosch walk mode uses how much battery?

Just something I read elsewhere on emtb, and a solution was switching to a rim magnet and the sensor in the motor. I thought about gluing a strong RE magnet inside the tire and switching to the motor sensor.

Bosch walk mode uses how much battery?

Speed sensor on chainstay with rotor magnet vs internal sensor with rim magnet.
