I bought a closeout 2022 Zeb Ultimate Boost 29... either 160 or 170mm, I don't remember. it's for my Turbo Levo Alloy. I wouldn't have thought anything about it, but then I got a Stumpjumper EVO which has a Fox 36. And that thing is nice and plush. I"ve turned the damping to full soft both...
Hey... I found a deal on 700w M2 batteries. I did some googling and it says the battery is the same as the M3 but the rock guard/battery door is different.. so if I swapped those out, they would fit in my 2022 Turo Levo Alloy. Is this correct? I wanted to ask before I order stuff and end up...
Yesterday I decided to top off my Turbo Levo Alloy so I could go ride some trails. I plugged in the charger and then went about my business.
I came back an hour later and... no change. I looked at the little bar-graph of LEDs down by the plug and they weren't lit. Hmm. I fiddled with the...
Normally I'd never make a reply that will be as politically charged as this, but it's extremely relevant here, so here goes.
The US is heavily politically-oriented. It is very much a Left vs Right thing. The Left (the democrats) have been pushing for 50+ years to force themselves into power...
I have ridden it; in fact i just went out to check the tire pressures, and actually both tires are like within a tenth of a psi of where they were when I last set them two days ago. Nice, maybe I don't have a problem anymore. (knock on wood -- maybe that fallen tree across the trail)
It's been a while but figured I'd update. I got a whole new wheelset and put new tires on it... the Assegai EXO+ front and DHR II EXO rear, and used a Cushcore in the rear. Installation was NOT all that hard. I did watch that video that was linked here in this thread. It got me started, and...
I had to go directly to the Maxxis website to find it in EXO+. BUT... since I already have one in EXO on the shelf, would it not be better to run it with a Cush Core than to run an EXO+ without? I'm about ready to order another Cush Core.
This is what I ordered... a custom set from The Lost Co. I ended up having to get a new cassette because the old one wouldn't work with the new hubs, and thus the current derailleur wouldn't work either. I had been considering upgrading those anyway, so just as well.
I'm prepared to order up...
Well now I'm more confused. So it sounds like I have to have a cushcore to run the EXO in the rear... as there is no EXO+ in the Minion DHR II. OR, I return that tire and exchange it for another Assegai which does come in EXO+ (and I have for the front). I haven't installed anything yet; I...
"Officially" the only trail they're allowed on in Moab is that long paved one that runs from town to the north a good ways. All the others are strictly non-motorized, so they say. Of course as many here have said, I think people are just riding anyway... they either don't know or don't care...
Hell, Park City has made it a Class 3 Misdemeanor if you're caught riding an ebike there. It's a big fat fine, jail time, and they seize your bike. Same thing apparently applies in Moab from what I've read.
I go ride the trails anyway. I'm waiting to see if anybody cares or tries to stop me...
A number of national parks are also Wilderness areas, like Yosemite... so that's a whole 'nother issue. Wilderness is such a terrible thing to do to public land. I'm all for barring development and preserving it, but eliminating it from nearly all uses is stupid. But this is what the greenies...
Gotta remember that the US Forest Disservice (USFDS) and Bureau of Land Mismangement (BLMM?) are out for themselves. As government employees, they want to do the least amount of work possible. That means rather than managing land, they'd rather just close it. It's simple, it's easy.
BUT...
I ordered a cushcore for my rear wheel... I also ordered new tires F/R. For tubeless, do I need to install the rear tire without the core first, add sealant and give it a few days to do its thing, then remove the tire, and install the cushcore? Or is there another way to do it?
Thanks.
Rob
I went by the bike shop the other day, as I was passing through the area on the way north. They were able to adjust the seatpost better than I was, and got it down a bit lower. Now it's a perfect fit. No cutting, no welding, no duct tape or bailing wire required. Woo!
Okay, so there are two of you, and one is an imposter? :)
I'm close to you in weight. I was going to cut mine down to 780 or maybe even 760. Will do 780 first, as that's what the bike's bars are right now. I may be adding bar ends, so 780 might be the best move. I want to be able to...
