For my E10/m510 build, I hardwired in a Magicshine ME1000 light to the 6V output from the m510. I bought an extra cable on Aliexpress for the m510 that had the remote display connector, along with a lead for a light, plus a throttle lead (unused).
The ME1000 isn't necessarily the brightest MTB...
+1 for Archer D1X electronic/wireless shifting.
Just finished installing and setup on my E10 build.
Two notes:
The Archer paddles are very comfortable / very happy with them.
Archer have just released their next gen D1X shifter, with among other updates, an ability to be powered direct from...
Martin, I'll troubleshoot mine over the next couple of days and post here if/when I find a solution (though mine has only been tested in the maintenance stand, not having a chain on yet, so as @patdam notes, it may not actually be a problem at all, not having sufficient torque on the cranks)...
No need for invite or login for BESST. You use a python tool that spoofs the login server, and your hosts file in your computer to redirect requests to this locally running script.

Those red/black connectors coming off the control/display cable are to supply a 6V front-light that can be controlled by the C240/241 display (long press the ‘plus’ button on the C241’s attached keypad). You can also get a triple-ended cable that attaches to an optional throttle.
Re: torque...
Hey Ken,
I bought a second smaller-capacity (so lighter) battery for my E10 from Hipack Battery Store on Aliexpress, May 2022. Shipping was fast (arrived before the motor and frame in the end!).
48V 12Ah for E10 was AU$454 back then.
Hipack store is here...
I have a Garmin inReach Mini 2 / never needed it in anger, but nice to have along. Very small and light, though does take a little bit to get a sat connection. Great if only to provide your location to those at home, plus 2-way SMS when out of mobile range – but also can raise emergency with...
@patdam, awesome work! 👏
Two questions:
1. How did you manage to get a drill into that tight space on the underside of the top-tube?
2. What kind of threaded insert did you use? Over on bikepacking.com they describe using Rivnuts (on a steel fork) / though I wonder about this on a carbon...
I went with a glossy frame / still part way through build as I wait for parts, but happy with the decision (hard to photograph). Black & glossy, but can see the carbon fibres when looking close.
Here is a close-up of part of the frame from an earlier post:
@Jahbak while most of us doing DIY eMTB are using M500/600/510 Bafang motors now, a light(er)weight option would be the M820 (2.3kg) - though after battery etc. you’ll be hard to get away without adding an extra 5kg even before charger & solar panels.
I don’t think it’s necessarily an unwise...
Wow, @Dado, that’s very impressive!
It doesn’t happen to have (or could have added) ANT+ LEV integration? The ability to place a module like this somewhere in the frame, and then integrate with or simply display parameters on a Garmin bike computer or similar, would be pretty awesome...
Funny thing is, I ordered a smaller (12Ah), lighter-weight battery for the E10 as an extra from Hipack Battery Store via Aliexpress on April 8th and it arrived by the end of the same month.
- Frame was UPS, ex-HK 28 April - 10 May.
- Battery was SCA Express → Aramex AU/Fastway AU, 6 May - 31 May (looks like it came as on a ? bulk container, then deconsolidated in Sydney).
- Motor was SCA Express → Aramex AU/Fastway AU, 7 May - 24 May (also looks like it came as on a ? bulk...
