I'm only 5' 8" (172 cm) and weigh 70 kg so for me the 27.5" on the Cube 160 is perfect compared to riding my friends mullet setup on his Canyon with 29" in the front. I feel way more planted and agile, considering the weight of these enduro bikes with the big forks, battery, etc. Mostly swear by...
Having ridden both, I'd say the difference is pretty negligible on an emtb. I guess the main deciding factor would be how much you're going to ride off road. If you want to hit serious trails than full suspension is the way to go.
I second that. I'm riding a 140 hybrid race with 625 wh and I've only run it down to 10% once on an absolutely brutal day with 1700 meters of climb and 55 km distance. The battery gets taxed on the climbs. I generally only ride in the mountains but I did 70 km one day from the city, mostly flat...
I have the fenx 6x pro purchased 2nd hand. It's now my only device for navigation. Instead of buying the insanely overpriced topo maps from garmin I installed the free open source maps OpenTopoMap Garmin Maps
They don't have the details but on the watch face it would just be a distraction. The...
Lol, just got back from falling off a small cliff followed by my Cube.. I'm amazed to not be injured! As I tumbled down, the back of my head smacked the rock you see in the pic. Happy to be alive, greetings guys and safety first!
Yes, I'm also a bit of a fanboy of Strava heat maps! I've discovered a lot of obscure trails not visible on trailforks, etc. I usually plan routes on Strava, export the gpx file to ebike connect app and follow the simple blue line on my kiox. I'm still learning my way around my new home here in...
Actually I'm fortunate to live here, not just visiting. Paella is king! This is an amazing area in a spectacular country 😍. And the trails in my backyard are endless. I've quickly come to believe Spain is one of the most underrated places to mtb in the world.
Thanks for the info, I'm going to...
Nice video Nando, it looks great. I'm down in the Sierra Calderona. Not as scruby as up in Zaragoza but not as green as the Pyrenees. Atm, its raining like mad for a week 😒 so the best I can do is watch some ridealongs!
I can't decide between buying the hero 10 or the max..
I was using the kiox to track my rides before I bought the Fenix 6x pro. Speed and distance read correctly but I had a huge discrepancy on altitude. For instance, I would do a ride with 800 m climb and the kiox would report 1600 m. From what I understand, it largely depends on the accuracy of...
I've got the 630 wh on the hybrid 160 and I'm very happy with its range. I can do around 60 km with 1500 m climbing on a full charge. I tend to only ride in the mountains but on flatter ground I did 40 km and had 70% battery remaining. Emtb mode almost exclusively.
I have the 630 wh and range is completely dependent on your climb. I've done 50 km with only 500 m climb and come home with 50% battery and I did a 50 km with 1300 m climb and finished with 13% battery. Emtb all the time. Also, long gradual climbs seems to use way less battery then a lot of up...
Personally, I would go standard and not worry about the weight unless you're a big jumper. The SL is a lot lighter but underpowered for most of the stuff I ride. The ascents you can do with a full powered emtb are astonishing. The only issue I have with the weight on my bike is jumping, she...
If you have the fox 36 in the front and the float in the back on your Sworks it's definitely an upgrade to the entry level Levo even though you will have slightly less travel. Which model are you looking at?
New helmet upgrade. The tyrant feels super secure, good ventilation, protects my ears from the wind and my face from getting whipped by branches on those narrow single tracks.
If you come around the Valencia area give me a shout, I can show you some epic trails. I'm north of Valencia with the Sierra Calderona trails all around me.
I'm running DHF in the front and DHR II in the rear. 600 kms so far, low pressure tubeless on shit tons of rocks, no problems thus far. Not even missing any knobs surprisingly.
Agree completely. The trails I ride, turbo would throw me off my line in no time. EMTB all the way, with higher cadence 70-90 depending. If ascending on rough trails and I need to pump to get over rocks and roots I go for the 70 range and if I need a steady pace on a steep climb, then higher...
Cheers Gary, I may just take you up on it. My son is studying down in Bristol and we want to come visit and make a tour up north to Scotland. The retched never-ending Covid has delayed our plans but hopefully this year.
