I tried the above, multiplying 1.84m x 4.34 and its 798mm; spot on for my bar width of 800mm.
Multiplying by 4.40 as in the video is 809mm.
I did the press up test and feel most comfortable and strong at 800mm.
I rode 780mm bars for years. I then bought a new bike with 820 bars, which, after riding for a while I decided were too wide. I'm just over 6ft and semi-retired if that counts!
Rather than immediately cutting them down to 780, I shortened them to 800 as an experiment and preferred them to 780...
It sounds like you really like the idea of owning a top end emtb, and who can blame you.
If you trust the bike shop and have a good rapport with them go for the 9.9. Maybe negotiate having the bike fully serviced though.
I'm struggling to find a genuine Shimano 12 speed chainring to replace the original on my Merida E160 (Shimano E8000 motor).
There's plenty for sale with the carrier at around £90 but I'm just wanting the chainring which should cost half that price. I believe the Shimano steel ring will last...
(HELP) Newbie just made a Custom Chinese Full Carbon EMTB Beast for $3000. What do you guys think?
I'd stay well clear of this, sounds like you'll have so many issues plus I wouldn't trust the build quality of some of the components.
I have a new Pivot shuttle AM . 29" rear.
My other bike is specialized Levo 27 " rear tire.
Never have hit on levo.
I been moving seat up more but still hitting .
Should I have flip chip on high, its on low now, or keep raising seat.
Some time I like to sit on seat to rest legs rather than stand...
Had a great ride at Pines today with Steve. Unfortunately I can't make the group ride on 15th June so we agreed to meet today as he wanted to do a trial run of the route he's planned for next weekend.
Most of the time I didn't know where we were but was happy to just follow. Steve has an...
Each time I've bought something cheap from China I've been disappointed. It's either not worked, broke within using it a few times or I've thrown it away because it was so awful. It's so time consuming dealing with them when there is an issue, which in my experience is every time.
I've...
There's some great riding at Cannock but it's not easy to find and is well away from the red and blue runs.
Lots of off piste from Penkridge Bank Road.
The worst thing is the fees they charge for parking.
I can only think Merida routed the wires through the head tube to give the cockpit a cleaner look...not much of an improvement if it's causing issues! I wonder how it's routed on the newer '23 models.
Steve, I've just seen this post, I'm shocked your bike came with the wires routed through the head tube, is that the norm?
I bought my E160 9000 (carbon frame)new in July 2020 and the wires were routed through the vents. Not had any issues with the wires, only the battery in the on/off button...
Unable to remove the current speed. There are three other screens which can't be removed, distance, odo and range. I removed all the others and it made no difference, still defaulting to the current speed so I will put the other screens back as there's no advantage to not having them.
Hi Steve, I will try to remove the current speed from the display and see if that makes any difference. There must be a way to change it and I find it frustrating having to keep pressing that small button to get to the screen I want for it to default after five or ten seconds. Especially when...
The display on my E8000 keeps defaulting to showing the current speed.
When I scroll through the menu and select a different screen, after about five seconds it changes back to showing the current speed. I'm sure it must be possible to set the display so it continues to show other screens such...
Before buying my current bike I rode several different models before settling on a Merida E160.
One of the best bikes I rode was a Mondraker, think it was a Level RR, about a 2018/2019 model.
I'm sure it had either eight or nine gears which initially concerned me but actually It rode very well...
The seat looks great and its a neat feature having the little tool box underneath. As well as finding it really uncomfortable, the main reason I changed it was because of the sharp edge on the back. Hanging off the back whilst riding a technical downhill I went off line, hit a small tree and...
